does such a thing exist (for considerably less than the 135 quid berghaus one ive found). I dont want to wear a full on outdoor hiking waterproof. but also I want to stay dry.

I bought this in red by Bench and it actually keeps me dry, decent sized hood too. I picked it up in TK Maxx but there seem to be a few knocking around if you google.

I second Seasalt, and i think their sale is on at moment, poss with free p and p, if not they're quite expensive. Nice though.

I got a fab one in TKMaxx - black & white dogstooth check. Looks very Parisian chic at the same time as being totally 100% waterproof not 'showerproof'. Checkout their website.

Seasalt for funky raincoats. Great quality and have a detachable hood. The funky patterned ones are all sold out. You could wait for the new season or try ebay. Also boden do funky ones and Joules have a striped one.

TKMaxx is worth a look. I bought a Danish brand waterproof the other day that's like a fishtail parka.
