My last years matalan tan gladiator sandals are due for throwing bin shortly (they've done well for a year at £4), and I need some new similar. Has anyone found some comfortable tan similar style sandals that may be worth trying. I'm willing to spend a bit more than 4 quid this time! Ive been mulling over a pair in Clarks but wondering if too frumpy, the tan Serrana ones in Boden sale (not gladiator but simple) and a gorgeous firetrap pair which are £50! Any thoughts?

I have some Clarks sandals that are really comfortable and I've had 2 summers out of them so far. I have also recently bought some Saltwater sandals and am a total convert. So many people have complimented them and asked where they can get a pair, i couldn't believe it - I thought they were a bit frumpy but apparently they are quite trendy and everyone loves them! I was even complimented on them by a very stylish male work colleague! They sell them at Toast, they're £49 a pair but I've worn mine pretty much all day every day for the last 2 months since buying them and there's not a mark on them. I'm going to buy another colour next year.

I've got the yellow pair but they come in loads of colours, including tan.

Oh I ordered a yellow pair of saltwater sandals yesterday. Hoping they come in time for my weekend away and live up to the comfort hype Smile

Saltwater Sandals - why are these so expensive in the UK? A quick look on a US site has them at $36 - about £22. I can't bring myself to try them though - I already wear Birkies, and having Saltwater as well would be a step too far for me. Love my Sam Edelman Gigis though - v comfy, and lasting really well (second summer). Again, bought in US.

I've just bought these and I can't recommend them highly enough. Unbelievably comfy and great quality leather.

re. Salt Water - You can buy them off Amazon US (just need to work out the size - I think a 7 women's is a 5 UK for example) and you pay the customs in advance and they come down quite cheap sometimes.

HopefulHamster · 07/07/2014 19:23

Actually I just checked Amazon and it seems the ones stocked by Amazon (which were cheap) are out of stock, so buy the time you add customs and delivery onto the current in-stock ones, it's probably not much cheaper than buying from Toast. Darn it.

They were $23 at one point earlier in the year! (When no one needed sandals)
