Help!! How do I encourage my brows to grow back?

lucysmam · 05/07/2014 20:36

I've been growing them back for months after over plucking them as a teen...eyebrow threading lady has today undone all my growing & threaded the growing back bits Sad

Any way to encourage speedy-ish growing back?

hashtagwhatever · 05/07/2014 20:40

I read once petroleum jelly daily encourages growth

lucysmam · 05/07/2014 20:41

I've been painting on a serum for 3-4 weeks now. It's like rapid brow but a little cheaper, but I'm not sure if it's working yet, though the last few days I'm beginning to think there's an improvement.
I make sure to remind the therapist I'm growing them back every time I go in, but I hate how messy they're looking.

hashtagwhatever · 05/07/2014 22:42

If you leave it a few weeks to get a bit more growth back maybe try HD brows. Had my non existent brows done and they looked fab.

lucysmam · 05/07/2014 23:03

I thought about hd brows...but...I have visions of them looking less natural than they do now Confused

I used Revitabrow (QVC) and Revitalash.
It is ££ and you won't see results wihin the 30 day money back guarentee but I found it worked wonders on my spidery brows and eyelashes.

hashtagwhatever · 06/07/2014 00:11

I must admit the first night you are unable to wash the dye off and I looked ridiculous huge eyebrows.

I was a bit worried as I explained to the brow tech I wasn't after a scouse brow just neat full natural looking ones. After washing the dye. That is exactly what I got.

JenniMoo · 06/07/2014 06:40

I've been using this one, although rapid brow isn't too much more on amazon...

ah bum, the serum is a bit out of my budget Sad . I shall stick to vaseline for the moment & leave them well alone to do their own thing for a few months. Hopefully they'll grow back a fairly quickly (and tidily would be a bonus Hmm).

I'll look into hd brows too, see what prices are like round here.

I dye my own on using a bog standard 30 day kit. It makes them look loads better as you can catch the little blonde hairs.

lucysmam · 06/07/2014 18:39

What kit do you use Marceline? I'd be more inclined to diy then I can designate a day to hide rather than trek through town with monster brows Grin

Rapidbrow

It worked- I bought it and my eyebrows really grew back.

£36 -ish but worth the cost.

r2d2ismyidealman · 06/07/2014 18:50

When this happened to me I left them alone for a month to 6 weeks, just plucking out the strays that I def didn't want. It's a tough time period but now several months on I'm back to having a fuller brow without the use of creams. I wear glasses so it probably helps to disguise grow back!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 06/07/2014 18:54

I found rapidbrow worked up to a point (partial regrowth after about 7 or 8 weeks, not enough to be able to stop pencilling them in) but once I stopped using it they gradually disappeared again Sad. It didn't seem worth the expense to me, the improvement was definitely not all that great. I have become expert at re-drawing them.

Marcelinewhyareyousomean · 06/07/2014 19:01

I use a make called Coloursport for £8 which lasts ages. I'm an expert now and no scousebrow. The applicator is pants so I use a tiny mascara brush I got from the Clinque counter. I keep eye make up remover close by for blobs on the skin cos it will stain for a few days. I apply in a few layers and do my eyelashes at the same time. I fill in with a blonde brow liner. You must do a test.

You could go and get it done at a salon.

pinkfrocks · 06/07/2014 20:00

Rapidbrow worked so well for me I had to stop using after 6 weeks as was in danger of looking like Dennis Healey, bless him. But as you say- once you stop using it the hairs fall out as they have a life cycle like hair anywhere- same principle as using Regane or any product that stimulates hair growth- it's not a cure- you have to keep using.

Coumarin · 07/07/2014 01:45

I'm using rapidbrow for the first time tonight.

My brows are quite full but I got tweezer happy the other day and have spoilt the shape plus given myself a couple if bald patches. I'm a tit.

I live in fear of my previous line thin brow days so whilst I'm way off that now, I still want them to grow back asap. Hopefully this'll help.

Watch this space.

ScarlettlovesRhett · 07/07/2014 02:34

Hand your brows over to an hd brow person.

They don't look fake (after you wash the powder out!), it's only your own brows dyed.

Mine were badly overplucked about 2 years ago, so I went to an hd brow beautician and completely left my brows in her hands for about 3 or 4 visits (4-6 weeks apart). It was hard to leave them alone, but they looked amazing in the end - back to a lovely shape that suited my face, not too thick but not too thin.

Since then, I can maintain myself and just go for lash & brow tints - about once every 6 months or so I get them hd brow'd again to maintain the shape properly.

It's well worth it - I have converted the women I work with too.

ThisIsYourSong · 07/07/2014 04:13

I'm pretty sure cod liver oil is supposed to work really well

ThisIsYourSong · 07/07/2014 04:16

It's castor oil Confused

lucysmam · 07/07/2014 08:14

hmmm, it's a toss up between saving for a couple of weeks for rapidbrow or hunting out someone who does hd brows locally.

Looking at them more closely over yesterday and Saturday evening, she's tried to match my left to right (I overplucked left more than right so there was more regrowth there) so my left now looks shorter and less natural than my right Confused . Think I'll be looking for somewhere else to have them threaded after this!

OP posts:
Coumarin · 07/07/2014 12:31

Trying to get mine to match each other is where I went wrong Lucysmam

I temporarily forgot that thing about them being 'sisters not twins'.

lucysmam · 07/07/2014 13:00

True, I suppose put like that it's not so bad, still not keen on permanently surprised though.
