My damn bras.

IfYouCouldSeeMeNow · 05/07/2014 18:33

I've just been reading the 30KK thread, and it's made me realise that my bra woes might not be normal...

I'm a size 10. Usually an 8, but a 10 at the moment. I'm currently wearing a 34DD plunge Ultimo, but my boobs escape a lot!

If I wear a tighter bra, I get bright red marks under my boobs, where the band rubs, and it's hugely uncomfortable after half a day.

I've also got visible notches in my shoulders, where my bra straps tend to sit. These don't disappear even if I don't wear a bra for days.

I do have much fuller boobs at the bottom, and they are relatively wide set. I prefer plunge bras because they move them closer and it feels more comfortable.

Am I broken? Will I ever find a comfortable bra?!

Measure yourself as per the MN bra guru's blog and post your measurements here

Someone will be along soon to sort you out Smile

I can pretty much guarantee that you're very unlikely to be a 34 back and you'll probably need a bigger cup.

CelticPromise · 05/07/2014 18:39

What cup size are you trying in a smaller band? I'm almost sure you are not a 34 back. I'm a size 16 and wear a 30 back. Can you post your measurements? Round your ribcage tightly, then loosely round your dangling boobs while leaning forward. You have shoulder notches because the shoulder straps are taking the weight because the band is too loose to support you.

beccajoh · 05/07/2014 18:40

You're not broken, just wearing the wrong size.

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/07/2014 19:08

That definitely sounds like an ill fitting bra. Post up your measurements and we'll sort you out :)

bonzo77 · 05/07/2014 19:11

And it's not just size, it's the style too. I was in the right size but wrong style. Thanks to statisticallychallenged I'm all sorted and comfy.

PrimalLass · 05/07/2014 19:27

Try a balconette. Much comfier IMO.

bonzo77 · 05/07/2014 23:45

Exactly primal. I've more volume at the bottom and even a balconette isn't right any more. Half cups even better, the padded ones give amazing up lift and the non padded are just soooo comfy.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 06/07/2014 08:05

I'm a size 12/14 and I wear a 32 so a 34 is probably too big for you

Fairylea · 06/07/2014 08:12

I'm a size 16 and wear a 30GG so I'm sure you're wearing completely the wrong size :)

Re measure as per previous posts and post your measurements here.

Also ultimo bras aren't the most supportive for larger busts. You may be more comfortable in something from bravissimo - one of their own brands. Or a panache from them.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/07/2014 14:32

I'm an 8, I take a 28D.

Marks and spencer measure me as a 34AA.
