Eye make up sticks/cream shadows

I want a lovely cream every day shadow that is easy to apply, doesn't crease and lasts. Any recommendations - had some benefit ones which came in the nude box which are crap. Does what I want exist??

I really like Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in 82 Emerveille. It's a golden peachy shimmery colour that can be worn as a sheer wash of colour or be built up for more of a night time look.
It came with a small brush to apply with, but I must admit that I have only applied it with a Mac 217.

I also really like Mac's Paint Pots. I have the Indianwood colour which is a shimmery bronze. It is more pigmented than the the Chanel one so a little goes a very long way (and I find it's easy to apply too much at once), but it's absolutely gorgeous on - and it looks great together with the Chanel colour.

Bourjois also has some - I have a couple of shimmery ones and they are sheer like the Chanel one but can also be built up. I don't like the colours as much though - the golden one is too yellow for me and the pinky metallic one is a bit too cold for my skin tone. But the quality of the products is great!

I've also heard good things about the Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier sticks. And the Maybelline Color Tattoos.
If you (or anyone else) should be looking for a silver coloured one, here's the Laura Mercier one at half price: uk.spacenk.com/caviar-stick-eye-colour---sterling/MUK200011664.html

I use mac paint pots. I have painterly (a matt nude) and bare study (light gold). Love them.

libertytrainers · 04/07/2014 21:36

nars is the best imo

CecyHall · 04/07/2014 21:37

I love Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. It's ace on its own or as a primer to something else bronzey.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/07/2014 21:38

The Bobbi Brown sticks are fantastic , only things that stay on my lids.

TOADfan · 04/07/2014 21:41

The rimmel scandaleyes cream shadows are fantastic. Last all day and most eye make up only lasts an hour or 2 on me.

Saurus72 · 04/07/2014 23:25

Bobbi Brown metallic cream eyeshadow. They go on really easily, and basically stay put with no creasing until you want to take it off. Expensive, but with daily use I reckon one pot easily lasts me 8 months, probably longer.

MotherBluestocking · 04/07/2014 23:34

Another vote for the Bobbi Brown sticks. You can apply them direct to the lid and blend out (quickly) with your fingers, but if you've time you get a more precise result by using a cream shadow brush. They are absolutely brilliant if you are trying to make yourself respectable in a hurry.

jasmine1979 · 04/07/2014 23:42

My favourite at the moment are the ByTerry ombre blackstar eyeshadow sticks. Amazing quality, but sadly so very expensive. Sad Misty Rock is my favourite at the moment.
Mac paint pots are excellent and don't budge all day. They also last forever.I have about 7 of them, and will say that they vary in texture slightly though. "Bare study" for example has a lot of slip and is easy to blend, whilst indianwood is a little more solid, but the most beautiful colour ever so worth working with.Smile
It's also worth always storing the pots upside down. This way, they don't seem to dry out at all.

PinkandTwinkly · 05/07/2014 05:54

Second the recommendation for Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze.
It's my easy everyday shadow and easily lasts 12hr shift

FluffyDucky · 05/07/2014 08:00

Try the No7 ones. I have been wearing them this week and have been able to rub and touch my eyes no probs. Also due to a flare up on exma, I've been putting vaseline under my eyes. Normally when I do this my eyeshadow moves and creases more, but these didn't.

AntoinetteCosway · 05/07/2014 08:08

Everything I was coming on here to say has already been said! My day to day favourites are MAC paint pot in Vintage Selection (a flattering shimmery peach), Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst (deep purpley bronze but very wearable), Maybelline in On and On Bronze (deep bronze that blends like a dream and is about a quarter of the price of the others), By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Blond Opal (a lovely pale gold) and any number of Bobbi Brown cream eyeshadows, though the BB ones are all extremely shimmery (at least the ones I have!) and so lend themselves more to evening wear, and I also find they crease more than the others so I use them more as primers under powder shadows than as stand alone eyeshadows.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/07/2014 08:18

No 7 perfect stay-doesn't shift all day.

flippinada · 05/07/2014 08:39

For spendy, the bobbi brown cream shadow sticks are excellent. Does not budge, blends out easily and looks great with minimal effort.

For budget, maybelline colour tattoo and rimmel scandaleyes are great - I find these ones last better with a primer underneath.

Cocolepew · 05/07/2014 08:45

I second, the Scandaleyes pencils by Rimmel. You can build up the colour and they stay on really well, and they are cheap!
Maybelline eye tattoo is very good, but limited colours.

Deathraystare · 05/07/2014 12:15

I do like the Maybelline ones. I have two - a pink one and a brown one. Also have an M&S one in brown that may be discontinued now. Also use the Mac Painterly one - I use it as a base to cover up on my lids.

Steben · 05/07/2014 13:37

Love the sound of lots of these, thanks for replies - is the texture of the Chanel one the same as their divine cream blush? Would also love a proper brush as I have had little success with fingers but that may be due to crap benefit cream shadow Hmm

I love the sound of the eyeshadow sticks but do they break easily?

I saw some in boots (cheapish brand, can't remember which) but all the tips of the testers had broken off and I imagine they are hard to re sharpen as they are so soft.

Are the ones mentioned above (Rimmel, Bobbi brown, maybelline) less breakable?

AntoinetteCosway · 05/07/2014 14:23

The Maybelline and BB ones I was referring to are in pots rather than sticks, though BB do sticks too I think. The sticks I have (Laura Mercier, By Terry) twist up and don't need sharpening. They don't break off because you only need to twist a tiny bit above the top of the packaging and then just twist them back down again.

AntoinetteCosway · 05/07/2014 14:24

Steben I would get a MAC 217 brush-swipe shadow onto eye with stick or finger then use the brush to blend in the socket. Easy!

Bambi75 · 05/07/2014 14:29

Ombre Blackstar by Terry cream shadows are AMAZING. Beats bobbi brown and every other brand mentioned on here hands down.

So easy and quick to apply, last for ages, don't crease or smudge.

They are £28 but so worth it. I have the misty rock and it's stunning.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/07/2014 16:27

Minipie-sounds like the no 7 ones-they don't break and are easy to sharpen as they have a sharpener in the end.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 05/07/2014 17:09

I do like By Terry stuff , might try one.

Housewife2010 · 05/07/2014 17:11

I agree with By Terry Ombre Blackstars. Definitely worth the high price. I have Bronze Moon, Misty Rock, Ombre Mercure & Brown Perfection. I swipe on my lid then quickly blend into my socket with a Becca cream eyeshadow brush. I have the MAC 217 but tend to save that for powder eyeshadows. If I could only have one, I'd go for Bronze Moon. Very wearable & would be suitable for work or everyday, but you can add more for a more glamorous evening look.

minipie · 05/07/2014 18:55

Thanks, will have a look at the no 7 ones and also keep an eye out for twist up ones. the ones I saw were just like big colouring pencils - but with very soft "leads" - so obviously they broke very easily.
