my hands are sooo dry-shiny looking, look 10 years older than the rest of me.
any rec's for something REALLY intensive, more than hand creams.
leave on over night with gloves or a hand "mask" of some sort?
TIA

I have very maltreated hands (NHS soap, washing my hands 40+ times a day, I wear vinyl gloves at work, no gloves for cleaning)

I don't like L'Occitane Shea Butter, it feels to 'matte'
I love their Verbena though

If my hands need TLC, Flexitol after a short warm soak then cotton gloves (Poundshop)

Or Vaseline + gloves.

Mine get little splits in winter and go red and tight Sad

Pure coconut oil. Perfect for hands and hair!

HavantGuard · 04/07/2014 19:12

This

I put loads on right before bed every night. It's good.

everythingsgoingsouth · 04/07/2014 19:14

weleda skin food.
if my hands are really bad (eczema) I put on a moiturising lotion (aveeno atm) and let it sink in. then skin food on top.
such a relief.

I've used Neutrogena for years at bedtime - wonderful!
You can use nicer smelly stuff in the day, but at bedtime, the unperfumed Neutrogena is marvellous.

HappyGirlNow · 04/07/2014 19:49

Neutrogena concentrated hand cream - fab..

seasalt50 · 04/07/2014 19:55

Vaseline on the backs of my hands when I'm sitting watching telly works wonders. During the day I like Aveeno because it sinks in.

Any oil put on and then layered over with a handcream will help.

everythingsgoingsouth · 04/07/2014 22:55

thanks everyone.
will definitely try the layering, oil and a cream with my gloves overnight.
also, found a flexitol 500g for £23 on *bay!

Body shop Hemp. Bit whiffy. I know farmers who use it.

Valsoldknickers · 04/07/2014 23:04

The Hemp hand cream from the Bodyshop works really well for me (and my DH). My hands have been so cracked and sore that lots of recommended hand creams (eg Neurogena) only make them feel worse (stinging, ouch!!!)

Glycerin based hand wash is my best friend. Costs more than the standard handsoap but saves me money on doctor's visits. Have had a baby within the last few months and despite all the handwashing my mitts are in good shape!

EATmum · 04/07/2014 23:07

Have tried most products in the last two years. Only one I'd recommend (where I can feel a definite change if I use it) is Aloe Propolis Creme by Forever Living or something. Sounds mad, but it really does seem to work for me.

MotherBluestocking · 04/07/2014 23:36

I swear by Kiehl's High Intensity hand cream. Very rich but absorbs really quickly. You can actually feel your skin drinking it in.

Only1scoop · 04/07/2014 23:40

Boots botanical overnight hand cream....

peasandlove · 05/07/2014 01:06

I was going to say Kiehls too, theirs was designed for engineers or something

OneLittleToddleTerror · 05/07/2014 04:43

Another vote for the body shop hemp hand cream. I also have their oil for layering too.

toothlessdragon · 05/07/2014 05:58

And take fish oil to stoo the cracking

Nanasueathome · 05/07/2014 06:25

The best hand cream I have ever used is I Coloniali Rice Bran cream

Vaseline at bedtime works well for me

singaporeswing · 05/07/2014 14:15
