Summer dress nightmare

Pizdets · 03/07/2014 19:00

Since the weather's improved I've realised all my lovely little silk sundresses are totally impractical for running round after a sticky, crawling baby. What's worse is that since giving birth my keratosis pilaris (or whatever it's called) has gone mad all over my legs, making them look awful, so I can't bring myself to reveal them in short dresses.

All the shops seem to be full of synthetic dresses, what I really want is a couple of quick, easy cotton sundresses, knee length but not frumpy, ideally fairly loose and cool to wear. I'd be so grateful for any suggestions!

pink again (would probably be knee length on someone shorter than 6ft]]

Oh wow, amazing thanks! Like the blue and red people tree ones especially. Budget is fairly cheap and cheerful, prob c £50 for the right one. I've looked at that 20th century foxy stuff before and it's lovely but too structured, ideally I want v relaxed and cool to just slop around in!

The red striped people tree one also comes in brown

Pizdets · 03/07/2014 20:39

Something really slouchy like this would be amazing!

white cotton?

QueenofLouisiana · 03/07/2014 20:45

I bought mine in Sainsbury's. it's cotton, knee length and feels lovely and cool- I wasn't at all sticky after I waked a couple of miles with 90 kids, taught all day and went to a meeting. Not at all posh, but just what I needed.

tethersend · 03/07/2014 20:49

cream

Pizdets · 03/07/2014 20:51

Oh, that one is sweet snoozy but not in my size (10). Queenof I don't need posh, it's going to get sticky fingers all over it! But don't have a big Sainsbury's near here...might need to venture further afield!

Oooh, tethers, I love that one, right up my street! I'm wearing a v similar denim one right now and my husband hates it! Bit worried it would look like a tent on someone with an actual arse but I'm tempted to order it to try on. Thanks everyone, food for thought.

Esprit usually has a good selection of dresses in lots of different styles.

Pizdets · 03/07/2014 21:08

Oooh, love both those h&m dresses too fairycaravan, I thought I'd done h&m and Asos but seem to have missed loads! Annoyingly the first dress is 6-8 or 10-12. I'm usually a small 10, don't suppose you've tried it on at all and know how it fits?

owlcapone not thought of esprit, will have a look thanks!
