Does anyone use these? would you recommend them? which sompany is the best?

I keep seeing adverts and like getting parcels, love smellies so it would be nice to get this every month like a present (even if I have to pay for it).

Just wandered if they are ok or a bit of a rip off?

I have been subscribed in the past to Birchbox and glossybox for about 6 months each. Neither were worth the money at all in my opinion. I fopund a lot of the samples that they sent were items that you could often pick up for free at a counter or for very little in various online shops. They were also quite bad at making one of the items something like a small cheap mirror or brush with their name on and claiming it was worth about £20 or something stupid like that.
I found each month I would think I would give them another chance as there was always the promise that the next box might be really good. It never was though.
I love trying out new products and thought that this would be a great way to do it. The items sent never fit my profile though, so lot's of the items just weren't suitable at all. I decided in the end that the money would be much better spent buying an item every so often that I really did want and wouldn't go to waste.

Having said all that, I am currently subscribed to Lovelula beauty box. (think it was called avayla or something before?) and have been for about a year. I am generally really happy with what I get each month from them. I think I've had 2 boxes that haven't been all that great, but unlike the other beauty boxes, I do feel like I'm getting my moneys worth and have also found new products that I shall continue to buy and use regularly.
Lovelula are a natural/organic type of beauty box so it probably helps if you are into those sort of products like I am. If you aren't, then you maybe wouldn't like it quite so much. Smile

I would say narrow down the beauty boxes that you are interested in and google image each box followed by the name of the last few months. You will then get a good idea of the kind of thing you will recieve from them. This isn't the case for lovelula, but with most other beauty boxes, be aware of the reviews from the big beauty bloggers.
They are often sent varying contents and clearly get the better boxes than the average subscriber does, as they then give good reviews. It's one of the reasons a lot of people get fed up with them I think. There seems to be a lot of inequality with who gets sent what!
Hope that helps a bit. Smile

I'd agree that Glossybox isn't great, I got a Lipcote once. I don't get how that's premium/unusual/new which was kind of the selling point. A cheap palette of green eyeshadow, entirely unsuited to my skin tone, and a greasy lipstick. And a free sample of Lady Gaga's perfume. Cancelled after a few shit boxes.

Might try lovelula, though. Food subscription boxes, on the other hand....

Jasmine that's really helpful - thank you. I've thought about these before but never taken the plunge. Might give the lovelula one a try now :)

You Beauty is also quite good (if obviously you can get over the Daily Mail connection)

£6.95 a month posted.
You get to chose two items from a shortlist of 8-10, plus they then add in a couple of sample size bits too.
This month is gone for a 100ml multipurpose body oil, and a 75ml each L'Occitane shampoo/conditioner duo, I've also have GlamGlow, Rituals, Dr Organic, HER Haircare and Clayspray over last few months. All full size or very large travel sizes.
