Anyone done clean 9? Is it going to work??

I am a huuuuge cynic of fad diets, but I feel sluggish since finishing an event I'd been training for, i simply have no time for training or exercise ATM (ft work, then some) and mum, I manage walking a mile at lunch twice a week and a lunch yoga class but that's it.... From a marathon fitness before its a comedown!!
So, we go on hol in 6 weeks. I don't want to be embarrassed in a bikini
I am therefore considering a clean 8 thing to kick start being a bit slimmer. I eat well, but just don't have time to move more
An I kidding myself or will it work?
I'm a 10/12 but totally flabby, big thighs and when I had dc the little pot belly with stretch marks bit is itching / stretching again Hmm
I'd like to be a healthy 10
I'm 5'4 and no idea how heavy but guess just under 10st

My sister was selling their stuff for a short time so I gave it a try. Lost 5lbs in the 9 days of it but the first two days with no normal food were quite hard. We all know the eat less move more mantra but sometimes a quick fix is tempting. It's £££ too.

sleepdodger · 29/06/2014 08:08

Thanks for reply
Did it stay off?
Would you have got the same by just say juicing or fasting?
Did you feel ill as in loo visits etc?

I have no experience of it (other than a friend trying to flog it) but I can lose 5lb in 9 days in the first week of starting My Fitness Pal or something similar. It sounds like it is an expensive way of restricting calorie intake, and it's not going to tone you up. I remain cynical....

suze28 · 29/06/2014 09:12

I felt fine on it and there was no difference in the, ahem, toilet visits.

It's an expensive way to kick start a bit of weight loss and you'd get the same results with any other calorie restricted diet.
I honestly wouldn't bbother with it.

EliseEvans · 29/09/2015 14:37

Weight loss is a side affect of this .... It's a cleanse not a diet I'm on day 7 10lbs & 13inches lost but I feel so full of energy my hair even feels different best I've felt in years!

TreeHuggerMum1 · 29/09/2015 14:42

Although I haven't tried it (yet) I know 3 mums from school who have all just done and lost between 7 - 12 lbs. They say it's tough but shows quick results and I am hugely tempted to have a bash too.

Stuff that for a lark. Do Low Carb High Fat instead. No need for buying expensive crap. Go and look on the low carb bootcamp and low carb diet threads for ideas.

You will lose 2-4kg the first week. A lot of this is water - but you feel a whole lot less bloated and therefore like you're heading in the right direction. Gradual weight loss will follow. It takes a few days to get over the cravings for carbs (eating plenty of salt will help….you do need more because your kidneys work differently eating like this), but after that you never need feel hungry.

Getuhda348 · 29/09/2015 23:00

Yes you will lose weight because you eat less with this. However you could do this anyway? Without the horrible gel that they sell from £70-£120. They don't actually sell this as a weight loss but as a cleanse. It's a fad diet. If you are after a quick fix the is surely cheaper ways to do this. My advice don't do it. But good luck.

Trouserdilemma · 30/09/2015 08:11

It's just a low calorie diet with an expensive purchase on top. I have a friend who peddles this stuff and it drives me crazy

trilbydoll · 30/09/2015 08:15

My sister did it - it's the same as the cabbage soup diet, no salt so you lose all your retained water. Cabbage soup is probably a bit more nutritious!

Trouserdilemma · 30/09/2015 08:16

My friend even posts things on Facebook saying she has forgotten to take the shot of aloe and feels like crap all day because of it like aloe Vera is an instant miracle cure to everything. What a load of crap.

Trouserdilemma · 30/09/2015 08:18

I honestly don't know how people sell these products mainly to their friends as its all a lie, an expensive con or at best a placebo
