Do highlights take a while to blend in?

I have brown hair and have just had bleach highlights. It look ok, but quite 'stripey' at the roots as hair quite dark, and bleach quite light...

Will this blend in over the next few weeks?

Is that all you've had put in, bleach? Usually for highlights to blend nicely and not get the stripey look, you need to alternate three colours, one being bleach, then two tones of honey & caramel, depending on your natural hair colour.

Did they use a toner to help 'settle' the colour?

Do you think I should ask for another colour to be put through? No toner, it wasn't yellow, otherwise they would have put an ah toner on it.

Depending on the base colour you would normally expect to have 2/3 different colours to achieve a more blended, natural look. A good colourist will also often use a higher ratio of v light blonde around your face which gives a sun kissed look. Highlights do take time to blend in though. Always look better a good fortnight or so after they have been put in.
