Alternative wedding dress?

I'm getting married in October, will be a very low key wedding at registry office followed by a meal with family.

I know I have a few months but wanted to start to look at places to get a bit of a shortlist. I'm planning to wear a dress but what sort I don't know. I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight between now and then so I don't want to buy anything yet but I do want to start looking .

Does anyone have any recommendations of places to look please for dresses/heels?

How alternative do you want to be? What's your budget? I wore a black, knee length designer frock with 3/4 length arms. I shopped around in Liberty, Selfridges and Harvey Knicks and bought accessories too from Net a Porter. My Wardrobe has some nice frocks.

Thanks everyone! Sorry I wasn't very specific in my op. My budget won't stretch that far I'm afraid, I'm thinking high street prices. I don't want to wear anything weddingy if that makes sense, just a nice dress and heels. So on that basis I think white is out.

LK Bennett is a bit too pricey, budget will be around £100 for the outfit. I'm wondering whether I maybe will be able to get a dress from Oasis or maybe Warehouse.

You mean "wedding uniform"?

Your wedding dress is the dress you wear on your wedding. It's a fairly recent thing (100 years or so) that wedding dresses have become white(ish).

If you wear anything else it may make you less recognisable as bride in the middle of the guests, but wear what you would like the most.
