Bikini/weight loss/sizing dilemma - advice please!

So in the last year I've gone from a size 22 to a 12 (occasionally a 10 if the shop is generous) and I've decided I want to finally make the most of it and buy a bikini for when I go on my honeymoon. The problem is I dont know what kind I need. I'm most definitely not firm and sadly I have a reasonable amount of loose-ish skin that needs to be ticked in (mostly in boob area and lower belly, plus wrinkly inner thighs). Its almost put me off, but I figured i've worked hard to lose the weight, so who cares. I am approx a 32E, poss a bit smaller as I'm still losing weight and my most recent bra purchase is looking a little gapey around the cups. I've got fairly empty/bottom heavy boobs that are wide set.

I tried on a bikini today in Tesco but it was just a size 12 - the back was too loose and the cups runneth over. Sadly a lot of it was kind of empty-ish skin that just needed to be tucked in (really selling myself here!). Bottoms-wise, im looking for high waisted, up to the bellybutton or just below ideally, to hide the belly overhang. I've been trying on 14s in these cos they seem to be more comfy/less bulgy. I really liike this but wonder if its just too attention-attracting and I should stick to black/plain coloured? If anyone could recommend any reasonably priced high street stores I could try some on in, or what sort of style I should be aiming for in the top, that would be great!

I got a fab tankini top in bravissimo and then got shorts style bottoms that co ordinate from h&m. They are fab, hold in wobbly bits, smooth my shape and the tankini top has a proper Bra in it so gives good support.

They do a variety of bikinis and tankinis at bravissimo and they will make sure it fits properly.

The one you linked to is lovely! And fig leaves are good.

Well done on the weight loss, that is amazing!

I love that Figleaves bikini! I always size up for bottoms as they seem to look better, less cutting in etc.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Thanks for the suggestion of Bravissimo - there's not one near me, but I'm planning to go there and get properly fitted, and buy loads of good bras, once I get to my goal. I seem to change bra size every few weeks which is fairly soul destroying, esp since I've taken on board a lot of the bra intervention-ists advice and found some fab bra's that suit my shape, finally!

The ones you've linked to our lovely, and you'd look fab in them I'm sure. I too lost a large amount of weight; size 18 - 8/10 with excess skin etc and PourMoi (that brand) worked well. The top was good for 'tucking in' and making you feel great.

Congrats!

Oh thanks, thats really helpful to know - how did you get on with sizing? one of the reviews said it wasnt very accurate. A friend of mine suggested tie back rather than clip back bikini top but I thought if it was properly sized then clip should be okay? Mainly because I prefer that style!

I love the one you have linked to, the halter neck spotty one is gorgeous and with the big brief style bottoms. Very tempted to get one for myself!

I love the Floozie by Frost French range at Debenhams. They're quite 50's/retro looking like the one you posted and they do bikini tops in 32E.

This is the one I've got (but the bikini bottoms would be too low waisted for you I guess): www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_064020117260_-1

I'm planning on getting this one too (the bottoms are slightly higher waisted, but maybe not enough): www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_064020304805_-1

I think this one is cute too. It's a swimsuit but with a cut-out back, and it looks more like a bikini really: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_064020305723_-1

Oh and I've just seen they do that last style in a bikini and it's got very high-waisted bottoms: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_064020305623_-1

Well done on the weight loss by the way!

Ooh, I love those, esp the ice cream one. Theres a Debenhams nearby so I'll pop in there tomorrow!
