Are maxi dresses over?

Am off on hols in a couple of weeks and also the weather is quite nice at home right now - was contemplating a maxi dress but was also wondering whether I've missed the boat on that one?

are they one of those things like Gladiator sandals/birkies/boyfriend jeans that keep on coming back or are they over?

I hope not because I've just put one on! Saying that, I'm certainly no leader in the fashion stakes, I wear what pleases me

Some like them; some hate them.

I see people wearing them all the time.

Wear what you like.

Rainydayblues · 20/06/2014 10:42

Some look good, some don't and never did.

I love maxi dresses and will continue to wear them. So there!

Kittykat7 · 20/06/2014 10:53

I love maxi dress but I live in a hot country so I live in them for about 9 mths of the year. They just blow on the line & sometimes I can get away without ironing them.

Maxi dresses are not over but the best maxi dresses are the ones that aren't too billowy or too patterned.

BringMeTea · 20/06/2014 11:17

I like them but live in SE Asia and am 5, 10. Is this permissible? Ah, wear what ya like.

Pusspuss1 · 20/06/2014 14:02

There are still loads of them in the shops, so I think they're still in fashion.

WillPenn · 20/06/2014 14:08

I agree squoosh not too billowy or patterned. I took the plunge and bought this one in the Boden 40% off and free p&p offer (in navy stripe).

I have the very same dress willpenn and it's very flattering on. I bought a plain black one last year in the same style. I think once you find one that flatters you it's fine.

squoosh · 20/06/2014 21:06

That's lovely willpenn, just the sort I like.
