Holiday, daytime up-do?

I can't wear a pony tail because my hair is quite heavy and so my scalp gets a bit sore. So, for hair just past shoulder length, what can I do to keep it out of the way in the hot weather? Tia.

I love braids on holiday, scrunchy sea - salty braids, it's the only time I can get away with them.

How about milkmaid braids? 2 braids pinned across top of head. Really easy and looks all boho and nice. My current favourite hairstyle Smile

Braids a la Bo Derek, yes

On me, age 50, chubby, probably best notGrin

I make a rough bun/chignon and stick it all in a big claw hair clip. looser than a ponytail so no scalp ache, and easy to redo during the day.

Thanks mini, I'll have a look at claw clips.

How about something like this? [http://www.thewonderforest.com/2014/05/romantic-boho-lace-braid-up-do-hair.html?m=1] much easier than it looks

I have thick heavy hair that hurts in a ponytail higher than my ears.
I have discovered the sock bun!
YouTube it.
I do it when my hair is wet then the next day I have glorious curls!
