Bras keep wearing thin under the wire

As the title says my bras are wearing thin, I mean under the cup, along the wire where it touches my skin (the metal keeps being exposed as the fabric wears away). All my old bras did this recently so I bought some new ones, but now a couple of weeks later one of the new bras has done the same thing!! I wear a clean bra everyday, machine wash but only buy machine washable ones, I am big, 36gg but I've been this size for a few years and only just had this problem. I tried looking on google for the cause but couldn't find anything about it. Has anyone else had this problem??

OK, first things first. Can you measure yourself following this guide? The wrong size can result in the bra not sitting correctly, which may be causing the material to be rubbing against itself IYSWIM?

Secondly, bras shouldn't be machine washed. However, I confess that I often machine wash mine but I always place them in a net laundry bag first. Never use fabric conditioner or tumble dry as both affect the elasticity.
