Do you look better naked or dressed?

I don't know if this is a silly question but I look very different naked. I am not fat at all but I am short and carrying a few pounds extra of late. The excess weight is mostly on my bottom but also on my thighs, so much so that my body is very deceiving and I look a million times better when I'm dressed. I am dreading the summer holidays, I don't think even my DH realises how disproportionally fat my thighs are Sad.

I have a lot of stretchmarks and saggy skin. My stretchmarks have stretchmarks. I definitely need to be wrapped up in something flattering to look my best.

That said, DH has no problems with all my saggy and baggy bits. They're just not for public consumption.

LittleMachine · 16/06/2014 19:49

Oh god, dressed by far! I've had 2 children reasonably close together and everything is about 4 inches lower. My stomach looks like an accordion. I'm quite good at disguising it all with clothes though.

Pullingteeth · 16/06/2014 19:55

I look way better dressed as I've got loads of stretch marks and corn beef skin but my actual figure is a bit drowned in clothes sometimes as I'm petite. Maybe I need a spray tan.

Floisme · 16/06/2014 20:04

Dressed or at least in underwear. But not too bad naked, all things considered.

Nulliferous · 16/06/2014 20:12

Fucking hell, I'm amazed at the high proportion of posters who think they look better naked.

I look OK naked except for my huge fat tum but it's sooooo much easier to dress well than to achieve the 'perfect body'.

RonaldMcDonald · 16/06/2014 20:19

I am gangly, flat arsed and big titted

Skinheadmermaid · 17/06/2014 00:36

Naked as then you can see my legs are actually muscular and not merely large. Look good in my most flattering outfits as well, mind.

Scarletohello · 17/06/2014 00:41

Naked. Have actually been told by lovers I look much slimmer out of clothes! Have huge boobs but long slim legs, no cellulite ( apple shape ) I can easily look frumpy or tarty in clothes, have a very hard figure to dress.

Wrapdress · 17/06/2014 03:49

Both. I have a really nice figure and look great with fitted clothes and heels (does anyone look good in oversized frumpy clothes?) but since I am 50 years old, I would pick naked because I still look good naked for 50. Too bad no one sees it but me. I would like to get a few opinions from some hot men....

ChablisChic · 17/06/2014 09:46

I used to look better naked as my body was pretty good for my age, and I used to struggle to know how to dress to flatter myself. In the last year or two, though, I've found my style (at last), and at the same time have put on half a stone or so, which seems to have manifested itself as flab and cellulite on my stomach and thighs, which I find desperately unattractive. I'm nearly 60, so I suppose I shouldn't mind too much, but I'm a bit sad about it. Even if I lose a few pounds, the flab seems to stay - my body's finally given up!

kaykayblue · 17/06/2014 13:18

At the moment, probably naked? But it changes.

I have a very slim build so if I put on any weight at all it goes directly to my stomach, arse and the backs of my legs and I look like one of those clown things that you can't push over because the weight at the bottom stops it from falling over. And it seems to magically turn directly into cellulite. Strangely, it never, EVER goes to my boobs! Hmm. But you can't tell if I'm dressed as I don't wear tight clothes, so at those times I would say dressed.

I put on a few kilograms a while back and stopped doing sport. It was very depressing seeing how much my body changed. Recently I started doing the 30 day shred, and other youtube workout videos, and I've recently started noticing a huge difference in my body, so now I would say naked.

I don't think I've ever changed dress size though. My clothes are either quite loose, fit well, or feel too tight!

One big caveat here is that I have never been pregnant.

Eliza22 · 17/06/2014 15:11

Dressed and semi naked. I have a nasty scar from 2 x kidney surgery and my first ever boyfriend commented on it.....I've kept it hidden (knicker-shorts and subdued lighting) since I was 20!

momb · 17/06/2014 15:21

I look best on the phone: apparently I have a very attractive voice. Sadly I am a plump matronly sort who looks mumsy dressed and a bit like bagpuss naked.

kinkymouse · 17/06/2014 15:30

Naked, I am big busted and clothes either hang making me look huge and matronly or fitted can make me look tarty. Not all my clothes but naked I have a curvy hourglass figure.

BlueKarou · 17/06/2014 16:13

Depends on the clothes - I think I look good in some outfits, but awful in others (and those awful ones are usually what I have to wear to work; I definitely suit casual clothes better)

I'm overweight and short, with a few scars (some self-inflicted others not) and not too fussed about depilation, but I don't think I look awful naked. I'm determined to love my body because it's mine, and it could be a lot worse, and hating it simply doesn't help in any way.

naicesex · 17/06/2014 17:33

I saw a picture of myself naked recently and I was overwhelmed at how good I looked. It did wonders for my confidence.

I don't own a full length mirror and I wonder if that's contributing to my strange body image ideas. I am loosing weight though - 2 stone down and 4 to go and one of the most amazing things about that is how my body is changing week to week.

So I vote naked Grin

naicesex · 17/06/2014 17:35

I am a very curvy hourglass too with an arse like a shelf Grin

Didactylos · 17/06/2014 17:39

dressed, but only if its some sort of burqua.....

Bunbaker · 17/06/2014 18:36

Lots of stealth boasts about huge boobs Envy

Sunnyfeet · 17/06/2014 18:44

I'm quite happy being seen in a bikini or underwear, I think that's a more flattering look than being completely naked. I've never been especially at home with nudity (apart from with DH).

notyummy · 17/06/2014 19:01

See I'm the opposite- small booked and proud. Overall it's an advantage to me I think (have led a very active life included military service and am very glad I haven't had to think too much about how to strap anything down!!)

That said, there are some dresses that I don't look as good in as my bigger boobed friends....

Scarletohello · 17/06/2014 19:35

Noo they're not stealth boasts about huge boobs, they ate just incredibly hard to dress as most clothes are not cut for them. So many ' fashionable' clothes would look ridiculous on me. Which is why I look better/ slimmer naked.

Scarletohello · 17/06/2014 19:38

And personally I'd rather trade a lifetime of back problems, difficulty/ discomfort in exercising, trailing round shops for hours trying to find clothes that are flattering, obscene comments from men in the street, not being taken seriously, not knowing whether a guy liked you or just your boobs, for a more normal shape.

Sunnyfeet · 17/06/2014 19:49

I'm far happier with my body since I had my boobs done. I'm 5' 6", slim, with a long legs and small waist, but I had hardly any bust, which made me very self conscious, and I looked like a boy from the waist upwards.

I went from an A cup to a D Cup, they're now totally the right size for my frame, and are exactly what Mother Nature should have provided me with for free! I've been "normalised" if that makes sense?

TwoNoisyBoys · 17/06/2014 19:59

Great question Op! Half a stone ago, (possibly closer to 10lbs) I would've said naked....not because I'm lovely by any means, but because clothes do seem to bulk me up, and I looked curvier and more feminine naked. Fairly nice pale skin, stretch marks which have faded quite well...Boobs not bad, curvy bum and thighs which just look fat in clothes! However....since the addition of the above 7-10lbs, definitely clothed, because it seems to have all gone to my stomach (which wasn't great anyway after two pregnancies) but now I wobble, rather than wiggle :/ In saying that, I really don't like myself much either clothed or unclothed!
