Which GHDs should I get?

Dh is buying me some GHDs

I've been browsing the website but not sure whether I should get the "mini" ones or the normal ones.

I have long fairly thick hair which is pretty straight. I mostly want them to curl my hair for nights out rather than regular straightening although I will probably do some straightening every now and then.

What would you recommend?

I'd get the normal ones but would also consider Cloud 9's.

My hairdresser has switched from GHD to Cloud 9 and swears by them. I don't use either so not sure which is best.
