Workout clothes for the curvy

So, I've been doing pretty well with C25K and yoga once a week and I've decided to get some new workout kit to inspire me to keep at it. I'm size 14-16, mid-range budget (can't justify sweaty betty prices) and prefer to shop online if poss - where should I look?

Have a look at the clearance section on SoActive.co.il. Usually a fair bit there.

.co.uk I meant!

Thanks. I have the best bra from lessbounce

sports direct?

JennyOnTheBlocks · 14/06/2014 08:48

Sports direct and supermarkets have loads

Decathlon has some good stuff, at very reasonable prices. There aren't many stores in the UK yet, but they now do online sales - although their webbite is really annoying.

Asda and Tesco both do their own (small) range of running/exercise gear now. Not tried it but it looks ok.

TK Maxx? Sports Direct? H&M? Decathlon?

Take someone with you, try some tights on and squat, get your mate to look at your arse - the cheaper tights can more likely to be see through or worse show cellulite through. I like Ronhill for tights - good back pocket for iPhone, flattering, not too expensive and they wear well. Tops I will buy from anywhere, Ronhill tend to be a bit too nerdy sporty looking rather than stylish, iykwim.

I don't know how low your budget is but I get my ample frame in Adidas and Nike stuff no problem.

Primark do running gear too - I spotted a pair of running shorts (they come to below your knees!) very like my lovely Nike ones the other day, they were only about £7.

My Nike ones are from Sports Direct, they come in a range of fits - I got the second slimmest (like, baggy, medium, slim and skinny, so I got slim, you get the idea) and were perfect for when I was an 11.4st size 14-ish.

They have a little pocket for my key which is all I want to carry when running. About £20 IIRC.

I don't know if you're after specific suggestions, but currently I'm looking for a fitness top that is fitted but loose around the belly (grrr....muffin top) and have been looking at these....

Only £4.99 but only one size left in stock.

Mandmdirect is sometimes worth having a look as they do do some good reductions on sporty type stuff.
