Bra fitting, just read a thread, now think I'm wrong!

M&s measured me yesterday as 36d. Just read the first page of the long bra thread and seen that m&s fitting is far from rated on here. Chances are I'm not 36d then? I bought a bra and It does feel very comfy though

Which bra is it hatchy?

hatchypomagain · 14/06/2014 08:01

A panache

Fairylea · 14/06/2014 08:07

I'm a 30gg and I can't wear panache bras because they always cut into my armpit. But I can and do wear bravissimo own brands as they seem to fit so much better on me. The bravissimo consultant said that the wires on panache bras do tend to come up higher. Might be worth experimenting with different brands.

If you post your rib cage and around boob measurement (when leaning forward) I'm sure one of the bra people will be able to tell you if you've got the right size.

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/06/2014 08:58

That explains it - as a rule, Panache have very very very long wires so if you are either short in the torso or have a bust line which is relatively high (in terms of where they attach to the body) then they can be very difficult

Cleo are made by Panache but not as armpit stabbing IME. Would you say your boobs are wide or narrow rooted?

Littlemoocow · 14/06/2014 10:08

Thanks for all the advice. You were all right!!! I've been to john Lewis this morning, found a lovely one in 32f which was perfect but too expensive. Ended up buying a john Lewis one in 30ff!!! The fitting lady was really good too, goodbye marks and spencer!

My mum measures 30/38 what size would she be? 30f? She has just bought a 34c and I need to convince her she is never that size!

SorrelForbes · 14/06/2014 10:58

Tell her to try 30FF. That has the same cup volume as a 34E so I would expect her to have some overspill/quad boob in her 34C (get her to scoop!).

hatchypomagain · 14/06/2014 11:22

Can't remember but have done my measuring properly ! I'm short and boobs are more round / wide than narrow and long !

hatchypomagain · 14/06/2014 11:33

So no panache for me - anything I can get from brastop or amazon - too lazy to go shopping (3 kids- 2 jobs)

StatisticallyChallenged · 14/06/2014 15:08

If your boobs are wider then try freya/Fantasie (same company makes them) or curvy kate as a rule - they're generally wider than panache but not as armpit stabbing!. If you're quite round boobed so have fullness all over then you will want to avoid bras which have quite tight top sections. There are some where the top panel almost curves back in and if you have top fullness often that curves in before you do!

hatchypomagain · 14/06/2014 16:10

Makes sense - ah yes Freya - did me well between dd and ds1 - perfect thks

Where have you all lovely ladies been all my life? I had been wearing m&s bras for at least the last 12 years until I came across a thread on here. So yesterday, I went to a tiny independent shop in my town, got measured PROPERLY, and now I have three perfect fitting bras and have thrown away all my M&S bras. Useless. Thank you ladies, my boobs owe you their comfort! Thank you!

AudacityOfHuge · 14/06/2014 22:52

Can anyone intervention me?
Back size 36
Breast 43

Been wearing around 36D. Normally the cheap T-shirt bras from Asda.

SorrelForbes · 14/06/2014 23:16

How does the band feel on your 36? Can you pull it out more than a couple of inches? If not, stick with the 36 but try an F Cup. If it feels too loose now, try a 34FF.

AudacityOfHuge · 15/06/2014 09:56

I can pull it out quite a lot, time to go bra shopping!

cloudofpink · 15/06/2014 10:43
