Dorothy Perkins is utter crap

I used to shop in store but the staff were belligerent and they never carried full ranges.

The last 4 times that I've shopped with them online theyve either cocked up the order or their website has been such an ordeal that it is not worth it.

No wonder high street shops are going down the pan when big players like Arcadia are getting it so so wrong.

I have to say i've had a very different experience, tho I rarely go instore these days as its just easier to order online. I probably just like them because they send me lots of discount codes, and as I've gone from a size 22 to a 12 (sometimes a 10 if im lucky) I've had to update my wardrobe pretty frequently! I did notice recently when I ordered something from them and something from New Look within about 20 min of each other, the NL order had arrived before the DP one was even dispatched.

momini · 13/06/2014 20:54

Haven't had a problem with delivery but I was surprised when I bought a cardigan off them last year at a discounted price & about a week later came across the exact same cardigan in Tesco for half the DP discounted price, only difference was the label. Can't bring myself to even look at their website now.

Nocomet · 13/06/2014 20:56

DPs are fine with me. Orders are right and in store returns work fine.

TheFairyCaravan · 13/06/2014 20:57

I buy loads from there, I've only had one problem and to be fair they rectified it really swiftly. I ordered a skirt just before I was going on holiday but they sent a "tall" one. I rang them, they told me to send a photo of the label and of the proof of posting, which I did and they'd send me another one out next day delivery, without charging my card again. They were really helpful.

mrscumberbatch · 13/06/2014 21:00

Superduper that's very impressive! Do you mind if I asked what you did to shift the weight?

The DP thing has been driving me mad as they were my 'go to' shop for years but without fail there is something wrong every time I go near them recently.

Wow Super! How did you do it/over how long/ that's amazing. I'd love to do the same.

SuperDuperJezebel · 13/06/2014 21:11

Thanks - I'm 14 months in and i've lost 107lb, 7lb til I get to goal... I've done it through weight watchers - its not for everyone but it works for me. Plus a bit of exercise whenever I can face it which is pretty rare! My goal weight is 10 st 2, i did consider aiming for 9st 2 so I could say I'd lost exactly half my body weight but I just CANNOT be arsed!

I keep wondering if DP is in trouble, they just seem to have constant discount codes. Not that I'm complaining!

Sicaq · 13/06/2014 21:42

Not ordered online, but I was in a store yesterday and what a pile of shite. Literally not one garment that I would wear. I'm too old for "ironic" granny florals and too young for sodding granny florals. In badly cut polyester.

Skinheadmermaid · 13/06/2014 22:15

I like dorothy perkins. They always seem to have a dire selection in their shop but i've bought several nice summer dresses online and I really like their jeans. They send out a lot of discount codes.

Blindlyshining · 13/06/2014 22:17

DP is utter shite these days. I used to buy more in there when I was in my 20s than I do now in my 30s. Also, I don't think the quality justifies the prices. It's not cheap enough for the poor quality - had too many tops go out of shape after after washing. I still rate the jeans and they are one of the few places that do a short enough length for me, but it's ASOS & New Look for me recently.

plentyofshoes · 13/06/2014 23:06

The last two tops I have had from dp have gone in the bin within a couple of months. Poor quality.

Madratlady · 13/06/2014 23:18

DP is the only shop I've found that does jeans that fit me nicely. Even more so now I've had a baby (skinny legs, large bum, wobbly tummy)

amimagic · 13/06/2014 23:24

I bought 3 dresses from them a couple of weeks ago, came to less than £40 and all three are great.

Their skater/fit and flare styles just seem to suit my shape and they've got so many variations. I love DPs.

threepiecesuite · 13/06/2014 23:52

Massive fan of DPs here. I must do an online order every couple of weeks and it's never gone wrong yet.
Love their Eden jeggings, skater dresses and knitwear.

mrscumberbatch · 14/06/2014 00:04

If anyone wants some dotty p's Eden Higgins in khaki or burgundy in an 18 then I'll send them to them.

To say they don't suit me would be quite the understatement!

alltoomuchrightnow · 14/06/2014 01:22

alltoomuchrightnow · 14/06/2014 01:23

the jeans are good for a tall bird, the crotch doesn't come to my knees
