What would you wear?

A close friend is having a significant birthday summer party at her beautiful house in the country. About 70 guests, with caterers, but not a sit down meal. There's no dress code, and friend is wearing something "sparkly". What would you wear? It's much more than a skinny jeans, heels and "going out" top, which is my normal style. But it's not an evening dress do - we'll (weather permitting) be outside quite a bit and there's a DJ so will be strutting stuff too. I'm clueless Confused

maxi dress and wedges. Make like you're Diane von Furstenburg and it's 1973.

One of these with heels & a clutch?

They are lovely dresses. Should have said I am 40, 5'5" size 12 with bingo wings, so not comfortable in sleeveless unfortunately. I like the idea of a tea dress though I'll look for one with capped sleeves maybe.

Try a cardigan/shrug as a cover up for your arms.
