I never thought I'd ever find anything in Jaques Vert, yet alone Debenhams but I did today and it fits beautifully. It is purple. The only thing is that I don't know what shoes or bag or jewellery to wear? Races day and then 3 upcoming weddings.

I have a grey suede oversized clutch. Would that work?

nude shoes, pearl choker?

Or a chiffonny type wrap?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 11/06/2014 18:20

I think grey would look great or nude as four forks says. Navy or black would make it a bit stiff I think ?

TroyMcClure · 11/06/2014 18:20

yes

FourForksAche · 11/06/2014 18:21

Crutchlow, is the colour navy or a deep purple? Hard to tell on my shitty screen.

MrsMarigold · 11/06/2014 18:23

I would go for a real pop of colour - yellow or coral; but grey would be safe. When you say oversized - how big is your clutch? What shoes do you have or are you going to buy new ones - I wouldn't go for anything too fussy and in terms of jewellery I'd keep it minimal too - you've got lace on the dress which means you don't need too much else.

Crutchlow35 · 11/06/2014 18:23

It is purple.

its very nice! going somewhere special? nosy

Crutchlow35 · 11/06/2014 18:26

I don't have nude shoes. Only black or red.

this is the clutch

I also have another clutch. Not as big in a sort of stone, cream colour.

Nude, grey or matching purple. Or a contrast like bright fuschia.

Would ditch the jewellery as it's got lace round the neck- go for earrings in silver and silver bracelets.

FourForksAche · 11/06/2014 18:27

that bag looks a little too casual for the dress, but I think the colour would go well.

Crutchlow35 · 11/06/2014 18:27

Corporate day at the races next week. I was so surprised to get this and it was down to a really young girl in debenhams today encouraging me to try this on and one other. She really is a credit to them. She could only have been about 20. I never have good experiences in debenhams!

It's a really good choice, you'll have a fab time.

HermioneWeasley · 11/06/2014 20:28

Agree, with that neckline I would wear big earrings and a big bangle or cuff.

I wouldn't wear the clutch you've linked too - I think it's too casual and the tassel doesn't go with the style of the dress.

If choice is black or red shoes I would go black, but bare legs or nude tights.

Crutchlow35 · 11/06/2014 20:30

I have ordered some nude suede shoes online so will see what they look like when they arrive. Thanks.

not fuchsia

grr at pop of colour cliche

Allalonenow · 11/06/2014 20:45

What a super frock!

I wouldn't wear a necklace, let the lace neckline stand out clearly.
Earrings and a bold bangle would work best.

I don't think your bag goes well with the frock, its too folksy, you need something more sleek. If you are going to wear black shoes, get a black bag as well.

I don't think red shoes would work. With black shoes and bag, acid yellow or turquoise bangle and earrings could look good for a bright pop.

Crutchlow35 · 12/06/2014 07:16

Thank you for your kind comments

These are the shoes I have ordered. shoes

Not sure about a bag yet but happy to see any suggestions!

in nude or silver? they're great Smile

FauxFox · 12/06/2014 09:39

Be sure to spray the shoes with protector if you keep them - nude suede will be trashed in moments on grass at races/weddings!

cheeseandpineapple · 12/06/2014 09:55

What about the blue version of the shoes? Could work well with the dark purple. Bit of contrast but not eye popping, order in different colours, see what works best and send back what doesn't!

Crutchlow35 · 12/06/2014 18:40

The shoes arrived today (how quick are next?). I don't like the colour. It is quite a yellowish nude and agreed, they would be trashed quickly. I have some time for shopping on Saturday so will try then. Thanks everyone.
