I'm fancying Botox

Hi all,

You have all been so helpful to me recently I wanted to throw this out there too. I have forehead 11's, not too badly, but it bothers me a bit. The 'wrinkles' are actually less of a problem that I often seem to have my face in a slight frown that pronounces/causes them. It is unattractive and means I carry tension in my forehead.

Anyone used Botox successfully for similar?

Any practitioner recommendations in central London

Any general Botox advice?

Thanks all

Yep. Botox completely eradicated my 11s and made me look less cross! I can barely frown, though. It does kind of 'freeze' the area. Interestingly, i left a longer period between treatments last time and they didnt come back as 'strong' as before.

I go to Tracey Mountford's clinic on Harley St. Would highly recommend.

Do you miss frowning? Can you still look serious for work/disciplining children purposes?

Nobody has really noticed, I dont think Grin. I still feel like I am frowning, but the area only has the slightest crease when I do.

For me, the benefits of not looking like a cross patch outweigh the downside. I was starting to look seriously miserable, as a result of frowning at a computer screen for hours every day. I also have botox in my forehead lines, but very 'light touch', so can still raise my eyebrows etc. definitely makes me feel fresher in the face, although its an expensive habit!

MorelloKisses · 11/06/2014 11:17

An you give me a vague indication of how expensive?

I dont know how much just the 11s would be, but for three areas (forehead, 11s, crows feet) I pay £460 I think. Sorry for vagueness, but I have other stuff done, too (filler) so pay all in one go and dont really break it down.

Thats every 4 months. Some people need it less frequently (guide is every 3-6 mths) but 4 months is when my crows feet and forehead lines start to reappaear. 11s are always the last to reappaear, actually.

I see Laurie, the nurse practitioner. She is fantastic. Tracey (the Doctor) may charge slightly more?

Damn, I just booked an appointment and then realised I'll have to cancel as I am still breastfeeding!

Really disappointed now.

Any other tips on making me look a little less cross?

I cannot afford Botox so this is my new plan Grin

Try frownies in the interim.

I like looking cross. Young people see me coming and run away screaming. Whats the problem? Grin
