I've got a couple of Freya ones from years gone by but need a new one this summer, and would like to come in under the £60 mark.

Anyone tried any good ones? I am a 28G

I don't find tankinis very comfortable or flattering either. I'd rather be brave with a bikini (I've decided I don't care - plenty of people who look at least as bad as me on the beach!) or go for a one piece tbh. I find a one piece much more smoothing and flattering - just bought this one from Bravissimo and it's so flattering. So pleased with it!

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt My Hoola Chevron bikini arrived today. I am so glad I ordered the 32G! It's tiny, much smaller in the band than the 30G Lou Lou I bought last year. It's an odd fit too, very flattening (which does not give a good side profile) and the gore doesn't tack by about 1/2". Overall, I think the cups are just too shallow for me. However, from the front, it looks really nice. The briefs are really flattering too.

But, is it worth £90? I don't think so but I can't find anything else out there that is better. Agghhhh, I hate making decisions.

Hmm..I don't know the Lou Lou. Was it a bandeau also? I've just looked at the chevron and am not totally sure whether its bandeau shape is exactly the same as the shimmer blue that I have or not. I'm very happy with the shimmer bandeau. A little minimising but good from all sides I think.

I personally think that ninety quid is a lot if you're not sure about it.

I tried the new Freya I got from Bravissimo again this weekend and actually have become happier with it. Not as nice really as Hoola .. but fine. It has fold over bottoms which for me are not nearly as nice as the tie sided Hoola ones. The top is a good fit though and is multi way .. good support actually. I do feel much more elegant in my Hoola bikini and swimsuit though!

This is the Lou Lou that I bought last year. It's a 30G and a tadge too small in the cup and is bigger in the band than the 32GG Chevron! I think it's a different shape too. I wonder if the Shimmer might work better?

I've returned the Chevron set and ordered a Pour Moi and a Panache one (both considerably cheaper) in a 32G hoping that the bands will run small! If they don't work, then I'll order the Shimmer one.

I got the heart Hoola one which I think is nice - not too cutesy on me. It is a bit flattening but I prefer that than the "hello boys" look at 40! Not sure about teh white strip down the middle but it looks ok on.

I tried both 28G & 30FF and the 30 is definitely better. It came in at just under £60 in the sale.

The shimmer is lovely but £90 is excessive.

The Lou Lou looks the same as my Shimmer Sorrel. My Shimmer bikini and Shimmer swimsuit seem pretty true to size. Think in the end they are 30ff which is the same as my Masquerade size.

IfYoureHappyAndYouKnowIt · 18/06/2014 14:01

I was very lucky to get mine in the sale. I think there are still quite a few Shimmer swimsuits in the sale.

Stokey · 18/06/2014 14:49

Oh yes Happy - have just seen the Shimmer blue top in the sale. But it only has enormous pants - think they would do shortarse me no favours.

The Pour Moi and the Panache Britt arrived today.

Pour Moi - nasty, padded and moulded cups in a weird shape. Despite tying everything as tightly as possible, the cups just wouldn't stay in place. I think this is a mixture of the wrong band size (it was very roomy) and the wrong style for me.

Britt - Very nice. It's a 32 which probably wouldn't feel firm enough for a bra but feels fine for a bikini. It's a much better shape than the Chevron too. A keeper I think but I've also ordered the Panache Cleo Nancy set so I'm going to hang on until that arrives and do a comparison and not keep both, oh no

Stokey · 18/06/2014 14:56

The Britt looks lovely Sorrel . Let us know which you keep.

Working on the theory that a good bikini is hard to find, I'm keeping both Blush

The Cleo Nancy set arrived today and it's lovely too. It's a 30GG and fit wise it's only a tadge tighter in the band than the Britt 32G which as it's a Bandeau is a good thing!
