Do you like this top?

top

I have a corporate day at the races soon. Not ladies day. I was thinking about this top with either a black or cream trouser suit? Black heels and a clutch? What do you think?

Yes, with cream trousers.

Nocomet · 08/06/2014 18:16

No it's too short, at least in the model.

Jackie0 · 08/06/2014 18:18

Lovely top. I would hesitate to team it with black at this time of year. It would look stunning with bright non- see through white & maybe silver jewellery . Don't match your shoes & bag. I'd love a neon bright bag with this , maybe orange? I struggle with shoes myself, I'm thinking a nude or white/silver sandal.

Bunbaker · 08/06/2014 18:38

It isn't too short at all. It's a top not a tunic. It looks lovely with white trousers.

Nocomet · 08/06/2014 18:43

It would have to be longer on me, I'm a 16 and it would make me look even shorter and rounder than I already am.

Bunbaker · 08/06/2014 18:53

I am a 10 top and 12 bottom. Clothes are more flattering if they don't end on the widest part of you, so if it was longer and ended on my hips it would be deeply unflattering on me. So it would depend on the OP's build as to whether it suits or not. I like it.

whereisshe · 08/06/2014 18:56

Hmm. I think it depends on your shape. I don't think it would be flattering on big boobs or a tummy. I love the colour though and on the right figure I think it would be lovely for the races.

EyelinerQueen · 08/06/2014 18:58

I'm not keen. Don't like the flappy bit on the front and think it would be quite unflattering. It could easily make the wearer look tubbier and/or pregnant.

I also don't like royal blue but that's just personal preference.

Bunbaker · 08/06/2014 18:59

I don't have big boobs and am thinking of getting the top for myself. I hope you don't mind Crutchlow35

TroyMcClure · 08/06/2014 19:00

i do
Not if you have hammy arms though

Crutchlow35 · 08/06/2014 19:03

Thanks. I am struggling to find something that isn't dull for the races and makes me look like should be in the office. Trying to cheer an outfit up with a brighter top.

I have a personal shopper appointment at John Lewis on Saturday so have asked them to come up with something that will go with a black suit - a cream one I'd have to buy but would get use of it so no biggie there.

I have red and black court shoes, navy wedges, but no nude shoes which I could buy.

Various bags that would go with everything, black, silver, grey, burgundy.

I don't at all bunbaker! I have boobs though. The v would definitely work on me as they always do. My JL doesn't run the line so I'd need to buy it and have it delivered.

I love it but couldn't wear with my hammy arms

The colour is beautiful.

plentyofshoes · 08/06/2014 19:59

Lovely. I have one in a similar colour which I have worn alot.

CointreauVersial · 08/06/2014 21:29

Lovely top. I think it will be quite flattering and I really like the colour. Nice if you have blue eyes.

TheWordFactory · 08/06/2014 21:38

I love cobalt blue (icy blonde that I am).

If you have nice toned arms - go for it (with the cream suit in Summer).
