Can anyone tell me what a small etc equates to?

My DD (18) takes a S, she is a 8-10 in River Island, Miss Selfridge and mainly a 10 in Zara's jeans.

My eldest is a 6-10 (a 10 in designer shops) in and takes a XS in their basic range.

Thanks. What will a medium and so on be then?

I find you can't really go by the sizing in there, you need to have a look and try stuff on. I can take a S in some of their tops despite being a size 14!

H&M sizing is bonkers. With them, I'm anything from XS to medium. I am normally 8-10. You just have to try on - if you can be arsed, increasingly I can't.

I agree that anything other than a S needs to be tried, unless you've tried the same style on and know what fits.

I (and my DD's) go in try stuff similar and then order on line.

I'm 12-14, 34E and can fit into a M or L, it's usually what the sizing around the bust is like that dictates.

h&m sizing is all over the place. I've been shopping in there today and bought a size 10 blouse and a S tshirt (I'm a 12), then a cropped jacket I couldn't get into anything smaller than a 16! A size 12 maxi dress and a M (they say 14-16) pair of shorts. You really need to try it all on.

Crazy sizes. I'm a 12-14 normally, more 12 than 14, 34E bust. Tops in S or M fit me, I tend to go M as I like the slouchy look. Trousers I'm a 14. Jackets I'm a 16! M is supposed to be equivalent 14-16 so assume S is 10-12.

H&M seem to have made their sizes larger. I usually take in a size larger than I would in any other shop, but everything I have tried on recently has been absolutely massive. I'm most definitely not a small sized person, but the mediums were all too big!!
