I'm so jealous of the peelers I'm almost swearing. Boots.com have got my order for Footners and I will be collecting them on Monday. This time next week, I too shall be peeling.

TheMightyMing · 13/06/2014 22:23

You bastards- you have talked me into spending £20 I can't afford- but my feet are desperate so I feel I can justify it!!

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 14/06/2014 00:26

Would it be considered grounds for divorce to buy DH one of these for Fathers Day as a gift from the children?

He is in desperate need of some hoof maintenance and I can't stand another day of listening to him grating his feet before he comes to bed (talk about a passion killer).

BigRedBall · 14/06/2014 08:07

Can someone tell me what it does to the dead skin around nails? I have quite chunky dead skin around my big toe nail (can't believe I'm sharing this on here sorry for tmi!). Will footner make it all smooth around there too? I really want to buy some today.

TroyMcClure · 14/06/2014 08:11

Go to a chiropodist and get it cut off?!

TroyMcClure · 14/06/2014 08:12

I think you're all brave doing it now. I wouldn't want to hide my feet all next week

WildBillfemale · 14/06/2014 08:38

I went to a podiatrist yesterday with really badly cracked heels,
My feet are like a newborn babies now.

Every bit of hard skin has been sliced or buffed off and a great massage to boot. I can't stop wriggling my toes they feel so good.

The floor was covered with hideous bits of dead skin which nearly filled the dustpan when she swept up. It's amazing how much was removed.
£30 - 1 hour - perfect feet.

Can't recommend it highly enough.

TroyMcClure · 14/06/2014 08:47

I go about three times a year. I have a bit on thd ball of my foot where skin cracks if it gets too hard. Plus she scrapes sands and files

KiaOraAura · 14/06/2014 08:52

DH suffers with cracked heels - as in bloody great crevasses, not teeny little cracks. He was wondering whether it would be OK to use this stuff on his feet or would it be a bad idea? Advice very welcome...

TroyMcClure · 14/06/2014 08:59

go to the chiropodist for cracks I think

BringMeTea · 14/06/2014 09:38

Think it depends whether the cracked heels are very dry skin or 'cracked heels'. Or so a podiatrist told me. Mine turned out to be very dry skin so general hacking, scraping etc. was fine.

I WANT some footner socks but not available where I live.

Snapespeare · 14/06/2014 09:47

oh YES! I bought footer yesterday and plan to sit on the sofa for an hot watching doctor who very shortly. I did this last year and had amazing results. There is something VERY satisfying about your dead skin peeling off.

Sleepyoto · 14/06/2014 11:02

Day 6 post-shower photos on my profile if anyone is interested Grin

I left mine on for around 1 3/4 hrs. Most important bits (heels, side of big toe etc) not peeling yet but am hoping they will follow soon.

plasticbanana · 14/06/2014 11:05

OK I'm reporting back. It's been two weeks and five days since putting on my 'footbags' as 15yr old DSS called them. So the peeling has nearly stopped and I think I can see the final result. I'm a bit disappointed. I was expecting baby soft feet but I think they're about the same as they were before - callouses and dry heels. Yes a little better but not significantly. It was fun while it lasted Smile but I don't think I'll do it again. Especially for the huge expense. I think I'll just go back to my Soap and Glory foot file (thanks to whoever recommended it - it's great).

KarlWrenbury · 14/06/2014 11:05

those are AMAZING

picnicbasketcase · 14/06/2014 11:08

I would try it for a fiver but I'm not wasting twenty pounds on something that might not work. Even if the peeling does look AMAZING. Grin

justjuanmorebeer · 14/06/2014 11:16

I am now on day 7 and it hasn't worked for me. I think I am just unlucky then. After a soak last night my heels went a bit softer and after scrubbing them on a towel some skin came off but no more than what wpuld come off with doing that normally. Haven't done the other pair yet as don't have an hour spare yet.
Very unimpressed as I expected great things.

I'm hoping my peeling isn't tailing off as the skin underneath still feels quite dry. It definitely looks better but if there's no more peely action I'll be a little disappointed.

FunkyBoldRibena · 14/06/2014 14:55

It does say 5-10 days OP.

JenniMoo · 15/06/2014 18:29

Any more happening just? I think my peeling's almost done and I'm not sure I'm that impressed really.

spookyskeleton · 15/06/2014 19:09

Well think i am done with the peeling now and I would say my feet have improved by about 25% Sad. was expecting so much more than that from the photos and stories on here.

I ended up in boots again today to buy some for cream etc to try and at least maintain the slight improvements but I don't hold our much hope.

waste of money Sad Sad Sad

WingDefence · 15/06/2014 19:34

I haven't done mine yet but I might wait a bit. I think the really impressive peeling is probably for people who have done nothing to their feet for a long, long time whereas if you already use products or even just a pumice stone it's not likely to be as impressive?

I use a ped egg every couple of weeks so my feet aren't as bad as they have been in ages and I'm not actually ashamed of them(!) so I reckon if I did it now I'd not get super impressive result because they aren't in too bad a state to begin with.

Does that make sense or am I talking out of my feet? Grin

WingDefence · 15/06/2014 19:36

Actually it's not a ped egg, it's a tweezerman one but you know what I mean

Littlepumpkinpie · 15/06/2014 20:22

I have done Footner socks countless times now always get a good result. However I have noticed the last couple of times that there is not anywhere near the amount of gel in them that there was a year ago. I kept them on about 2 half hours last night and also walked around in them a fair bit. Today feet feel slippery and look very shiney and in past experience gel has hit and completely covered all the areas that have hard skin that I cannot get off with a ped egg. I soak feet in bubbly hot water each night which I think helps speed up the peeling process.

justjuanmorebeer · 15/06/2014 20:54

Nope nothing. Which is why I am sitting here in the other pair now as what is the worst that can happen eh. It has been 8 whole days since the first so I very much doubt it was going to do anything drastic. If this doesn't work I am thinking of one of those scholl express pedi velvet things. Any experience?
