I have a much loved actual Mackintosh mac, bought at vast expense in those giddy days before children. The coat is still completely and utterly waterproof but has collected stains from handbags, travelling on the Tube and general use really. These stains have defeated all cleaning efforts known to me and a collection of dry cleaners, and now it just looks grubby.
Can anyone suggest somewhere that could dye it to a darker colour without destroying the waterproofing? Then the stains would at least be less obvious...
I tried calling the Mackintosh store. They suggested popping in to just buy a new coat from them...
