How to do tussled look?

I have very fine shoulder length hair. I've been blowdrying or or putting velcro rollers to style it in bob for ages. Now I want a summer wavy look. Lifted at roots and sustainable over longer than an hour. Hmm

Sheep looks not need apply.

Salt spray for the ends and a back combing powder for the roots.

Haha was going to ask whether you really wanted to look like you've been in a fight!

What's a salt spray?!

I have a big night out in London in a couple of weeks time. I too would like to attempt tousled Smile

Unfortunately with my hair I will probably end up looking like somebody has run their spaniels fingers through it.

Salt spray is supposed to make you look like some surfer chick after a day being sea & sand blasted. Like I need a good shower is not a look I want to rock.

I use salt spray, twist a bit to separate bits, leave to dry then use a bit of Redken rough paste to separate/tousle a bit more. My hair is poker straight and fine (although lots of it, iykwim).
