anyone ever ordered from lightinthebox.com ?

I am wondering if the site www.lightinthebox.com is too good to be true. Beautiful looking bargainous dresses (albeit on very very slim models), clearly a foreign site but free shipping. Anyone tried it? Any good?

I ordered hair combs for my bridesmaids. It was all very easy, pay with PayPal etc until they arrived and I had to pay £22 import tax.

I emailed lightinthebox who refunded half of the import tax amount and told me that they don't always tell you about it as it doesn't always happen
The combs themselves are lovely, and I still got them cheaper than I may have elsewhere but I was unimpressed.

Not ordered from there personally but I used to be on a wedding forum and lots of people seemed to order bridesmaid dresses from lightinthebox. People were generally very impressed with the quality of the dresses but a lot were caught out with expensive import tax like readyforno2 says.

I bought my wedding dress and shoes Off there. You could pay to preempt the import tax, so there were no hidden charges. I got the custom made dress (you send your measurements for an extra £17ish. It is bloody gorgeous and fits like a dream. Will be ordering my tiara Off there later actually.

Thank you all - good to be forewarned about the import tax!

I know 3 people who have used them and the dresses themselves were stunning. Don't know if they had any issues though.
