Where can I find a 26G bra?

FancyNewName · 03/06/2014 17:06

I am sick of (knowingly) wearing the wrong size bra, and would love to find one that actually fits me properly. Does anyone have any idea where I could find a bra in a 26G, please?

I normally wear a variety of sizes that do the job, but I need to replace a few and thought that now is as good a time as any to try and find one in my size.

I know there was a Polish website that would make bras in a 26 band, but they don't appear to be doing them any more.

Thanks in advance. Smile

Ewa Michalak and Comexim are the two polish sites, you won't find it on their drop down but they do them as custom sizes. Made in Preston do a small selection of 26s. Debenhams Gorgeous range starts at a 28 but is absolutely notorious for running small and almost everyone has to size up in it

SweepTheHalls · 03/06/2014 17:24

Bravissimo would be my guess, they certainly stock plenty of 28's for me Grin

FancyNewName · 03/06/2014 17:49

Thanks for replying! Flowers

Bravissimo is where I buy my wrong-size bras, and they don't do anything smaller than a 28. They should though, obviously. Grin

I'll have a look at the Debenhams range - thank you for that!

Re. the Polish sites, do you just email them to order? I was assuming that because they were no longer listed as a made to order size that meant they didn't do them anymore.

Yes, with both of them you email if you need a custom order - with Ewa it will be non returnable (not sure about Comexim) however if it doesn't fit I know of a facebook group where they resell for pretty close to full price so you won't lose too much. I have to custom order too but man they're good bras!

SuperFlyHigh · 03/06/2014 18:31

I'm sure I am or was a 26 but never heard of them so had to suffer 28. Trial and error here

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/06/2014 18:34

The other thing to look at is learning how to do alterations. It's quite simple to take a bra in a single band size - easiest way is removing and reattaching the fastenings or take a small pleat in the side.

StatisticallyChallenged · 03/06/2014 18:35

Oh one other, the Bravissimo Betsy Bow (or at least the old colourway, not sure about the new one) also runs very small, I had to size up in it and that verrrry rarely happens.

RambleOn · 03/06/2014 18:40

Oh you're just showing off Grin

Have you heard of these?... www.thinandcurvy.com/2012/12/a-review-of-rixie-clip.html?m=1

SuperFlyHigh · 04/06/2014 11:33

this article gives reviews of Ewa Michalik which is a good guideline:-

SuperFlyHigh · 04/06/2014 11:35

also see this blog with link to custom made bra for 26 band:-

they did do smaller bands here under The Big Bra Bar but last reviews etc seem to be 2012....

Statistically - thank you so much! You're a star! I am going to go and have a good ol' poke nose through the Polish sites, I'll also check out the Bravissimo Betsy Bow.

Quiet - I think the problem is that no one makes a 26, and so it's a case of either tracking down bras that come up small, or having one made.

Those Rixie things look good, Clare. They'd certainly do to extend the life of bras when they're a bit stretched.

My main issue with my wrong size bras is the straps wanting to sit in the wrong place, rather than where they should sit. When I pull them into the right spot, the bra cuts in under my arms which makes for a nice over spill situation. Grin

Ramble - I'll be showing off once I get myself into a perfectly fitting bra.

Oops, cross posted!

Thanks for those links - I'll read them now. It's nice to know I'm not along in my small ribcage, narrow shoulders dilemma. :)

Super - the Made in Preston link has 26G bras!

Wow! You're a genius! Size 26 bras IN THE UK!!!

In my size.

With 50% off my first order.

Don't get your hopes up too high - I mentioned them but they have had some pretty poor feedback from what I have seen, some quality control issues going on. Might be fine but...

FancyNewName · 04/06/2014 13:15

Oh, gosh, so you did mention them, Statistically! I'm so sorry, that totally passed me by.

For £16 I'll take the risk and see what it's like when it arrives. I hope it's ok when it arrives. I've narrowed my Ewa selection down to 11.... Grin

R&P will alter them for you but it's quite expensive.

I went before my wedding and like you say the smallest size they do is30G - I was a 28F at the time. So they said they could take it in for me for an extra £15 IIRC but I decided it was a bit of a rip-off. It would end up costing around £65 just for one bra. I ended up getting a 30 back somewhere else and wearing it on the smallest hole - I needed strapless and at the time couldn't find any strapless bras in 28 back.

Stokey · 04/06/2014 14:17

Gosh I got excited at the thought of the thin and curvy blog

It doesn't really deliver what I want though - clothes that work when you have skinny shoulders and big bazookas, back to the drawing board.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/06/2014 14:29

Stokey have you seen biu biu, urkye, dd atelier, pepperberry and made in Preston? All do clothes sized by dress and Tit size -so you buy eg an 8 super curvy and it has size 8 body dimensions with enough space to accommodate a pair of 28hh

Stokey · 04/06/2014 15:16

I only know Pepperberry of those Statistically - which I don't really rate. But will check out the others, thanks.

Stokey · 04/06/2014 15:21

I think what I'm really after is not specially designed clothes for big-boobed women but what "normal" clothes can work well. Maybe I should do it!

For example I know there is no point me ever going into Monsoon as even their size 8s will fall off my shoulders. Whereas H&M will fit my shoulders but gape at the boobs.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/06/2014 19:16

I find it totally hit and miss -not even specific brands just random items of clothing!
