My feet hate nice shoes

I think I may have to finally accept that I just can't wear 'pretty' shoes.

Went to a party at the weekend and was miserable as my feet hurt so much in heels. They hurt the ball of my foot, they are too tight on the toes and they rub at the heel. If I'd got the next size up they would be falling off my feet.

I'm between a 5 & a 6 and feet are pretty wide.

The only pair of high shoes I own that don't hurt my feet in matter of minutes are a pair of wedges from clarks over 10 years ago!

I also can't wear anything with toe posts apart from havaianas flip flops and ballet flats are either too tight or too loose.

Please could anyone suggest some genuinely comfortable 'pretty' shoes, preferably with a heel that will fit my hobbit feet?!

I've had the as problem recently, had a few special occasions where only heels would do. Tried loads on and eventually found a pair of black sling backs from Next. I danced all night with no issues!

For high heels I size up (by half a size if they come in half-sizes) and then put a half-foot liner in (to give a bit more padding under the ball of the foot) and, if they fall off at the heel, put heel grips in.

Or what about wide-fit insolia high heels from M&S??
