Summer trousers help please!

Hello, I would love some help on summer trousers. I currently have one pair of linen trousers and one pair of crops (see problem below) to see me through the summer.

I am size 12, fairly long in the leg, but find that many low-waisted styles fit badly or sag down my bottom, which I find uncomfortable in more ways than one. I have some cropped trousers which look great on my legs but I am aware that they are bottom surfing as soon as I do anything whatsoever....

Any suggestions for pairs of trousers which are fairly slim fitting, as my summer tops are all loose, but which have a reasonable waist?

Thanks.

Have you tried chinos? I get mine from H&M, Boden or Gap.

Gap khakis are pretty good. You can get them in longer leg as well

Boden Chelsea turn ups. Nice high waist, good amount of stretch in the fabric, make sure you use a discount code for at least 15pc off

oh yes, I second the Chelsea turn ups. Really smart and comfy. I have them in navy and wouldn't be without them. I posted a 15% off code on another thread earlier. Gap khakis are also fab - I have three pairs! - but size down:

Matalan have lovely chinos and do them in a few colours £12 and a good fit on me and I am 5'9.

how do the chelsea turnups fit frankie? I am a shortarse so need something pretty narrow in the leg

BranchingOut · 02/06/2014 13:39

Thanks. I buy a bit from Boden so could give them a go.

Aren't the gap ones low waisted?
I might try going into Gap and pleading for help from a sales assistant.

@rootypig - I would say they fit true to size with a little forgiving stretch due to the fabric. I'm an 8 and ordered an 8L as I wanted them to hit right on the ankle bone (I'm 5ft 5). They are cut slim on the leg...although if I'm honest, they are a little loose below the knee on me but by wearing them with heels, it somehow makes them look OK.

I just bought these Gap broken-in khakis today in the flamingo red colour and they are fab but had to size down two sizes (I got a 4!).

I wouldn't say these are low waisted as I generally don't like low waisted trousers. I would say they are bang on the waist.
