New hair dryer needed please!

So my wonderful Nicky Clark hair dryer is about to die (burning smell) and so I'm in need of a new one. What do you use and love? My budget would be no more than £30-£40 at very most, must be powerful with long cord and beable to cope with my thick curly hair which I dry straight.

Thank you :)

Can't say I agree with the glowing reports about Parlux. My daughter is a hairdresser and has had two of these give up the ghost in under a year each one. The manufacturer warranty is only 6 months. They are a professional brand and should last way longer than a year. Parlux as a brand are not interested in the fact that the dryers lasted less than a year. Won't be buying another one.

Mummy-I don't know how it works but parlux are really powerful.

I'm sure my parlux had a 2 year warranteeConfused

What is it about Parlux that make the results so good? Surely heat is heat?!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/06/2014 07:50

For people with frizzy or thick hair you need power as well as heat or it takes forever. The power takes out the frizz and smooths it down.

If I sat next to a heater it I would end up with a frizzy mess,I need the whoosh of air/heat to eliminate the frizz and get it done quickly. I can do my hair in ten mins now instead of double that.

Ah thank you Dame Smile

I've had my Parlux for 13 years, my daughter had a normal £20 hairdryer & asked for a Parlux for her birthday. They really are so much better. I got mine direct from Parlux.

I'm not that impressed with mine either, it is powerful but the hot setting is too hot and the next one down not hot enough. It's small and powerful, but no more frizz-busting than other, cheaper driers.
