same sandals as dd aged 8?

I brought myself some sandals from the Johnni B section at Boden and dd wanted the mini boden version but they are now out of stock in her size and she really wants the same ones that I have. Should I let her, or is matching sandals a step too far?

they are silver flat sandals with a crossover strap to the front and ankle fastening.

A step too far, most certainly.

I'm verging on sending mine back and exchanging for dd's size? I haven't worn them yet was saving them for holidays and I o have plenty of other shoes, likely to wear my birkis or flip flops all summer anyway.

Thats a good option if you're not so mad for yours.

Buy both (if you can afford it). As your feet have stopped growing, put yours away for future use. DD wears now until outgrown.

If you don't think they're worth bottom drawing for a year, then perhaps you don't like them that much after all.

I do like them, although have a habit of buying smarter sandals with straps and then being lazy all summer and wearing slip on type sandals.

I could put them up, as you say my feet are unlikely to change size, whereas dd will have outgrown hers by the end of the summer.

hmm dilemma now, keep and save or return.
