Question about growing out grey hair.....

I have lots of white hair and haven't dyed it since about March. It doesn't look great with 3 inches of root but I'm pleased with what's coming through and I've de-colored the rest from dark brown up to dark caramel. I'm wondering if a hairdresser would be able to get more colour out though and make the roots blend in more. I definitely don't want them to add in highlights or lowlights (I don't think). Having come so far I don't want to start again with the grey.

Can a hair dresser strip colour from hair better than I can at home, will my hair be left in terrible condition and will I be a hard sell victim regarding lowlights?

Hi,
I have read online about stripping colour from hair using vit C soluble tablets.....google it for the details. Apparently this removes colour.
I have recently grown out my greying hair. I went the easy root and cut it very short and it has almost grown out and I love having short hair. I have also read that Head and Shoulders takes colour out as well.
