Nails Inc Floral

Oh, how I wanted to love you…..
You seduced me, twinkling with your delicate little flowers floating in blue speckles. After much umming and aahing I chose Queensgate Gardens
I brought you home, with much anticipation.

I tried you out. But you are HORRIBLE Shock
I have given you many chances. Used on own, over base coat, with top coat, over another polish.. so many combinations,, but no, it's not working, is it, Floral?. and you weren't cheap either (I've used better polishes from the 99p shop) I know it's not the end of the world, but I'm out of work right now, you were a pick me up treat, if I pay around £12 or so for a polish I expect it to last more than a few minutes!

-You go on unevenly, blotchy and gloopy
-Your flowers skid! The brush sends them skidding all over the nail. If a second coat is applied, it un sets the first coat and guess what.. they skid all over again! and you take forever to dry
-You feel scratchy and catch on fine threads in my clothing
-But most of all…. you do not last !!!!! You slid off,you peel off, you chip off. Even when I put you on over gel polish one time.

Even the weight of the bed sheets makes you come off!
And i've been wearing open toed shoes for weeks! How long would you last in closed shoes?!
You come off in the bath. You come off if I put on socks after bath. You literally hate anything touching you.
You fall off randomly when not touched.
So, I give up on you.
I would've been better buying a clear polish and putting some little flowers in that you get from craft shops, you know, for making birthday cards etc.

Thank you, you have just saved me from the upset. I was all set to purchase 'floral street' en-route to work tomorrow. I had daydreamed of it over nude polis to glisten against my lovely new tan sandals... if the sun ever decides to shine.

ILoveWooly · 27/05/2014 22:07

PS. If you send me your address I will post you a new nail polish... every girl deserves a pick me up! x

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 27/05/2014 22:11

It looked lovely in a mag. Was going to treat dd for her prom, she can have gellish and bloody well like it.

Hazelbrowneyes · 27/05/2014 22:11

I decided against buying the floral after the disaster that was the snowflake varnish. White blobs over my nails instead of pretty snowy effect. Sad

Does anyone find Nails Inc nail varnishes to be pretty useless anyway? All of mine react in the same way as yours to anything going remotely near it!

KoalaFace · 27/05/2014 22:17

You made me laugh.

That is the best beauty product review I've ever read.

Please tell me you have a blog filled with you yelling at beauty products?

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/05/2014 22:19

I don't but I feel I should start one. I've had so many bad buys lately Hmm

I had the snowflake polish too - looked shite and took about an hour to scrub off! Cheers Nails Inc. Angry

Will avoid the flowers too!

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/05/2014 22:23

ah Wooly that's lovely of you but I do have many. The cheap ones are far superior!
It might well look lovely with your tan sandals.. it just does not last. It literally seems to ping off me! I found some on the toilet floor earlier!
Yet I have been so careful with toe contact!
It would be easier to do nail art.. to stick on transfers or 3d flowers with nail glue, then use a top coat.
It's just so bloody FLAKY!!!
If it was in a more, well, rubbery, flexible base, it would last longer. I guess it's all the bits in the polish that make it so darn 'crackly'

I have other Nails Inc that have lasted ok…but still not worth the high price. At least they go on evenly and last a few days though. MInd you i think several of mine were free in mags. The leather look one, i totally adore

alltoomuchrightnow · 27/05/2014 22:25

'crackly' as in cracks up and flakes.. I didnt mean those crackle polishes that were so popular two years ago

I haven't got anything to add, but thank you for making me smile (and possibly saving me a few quid!)

CointreauVersial · 27/05/2014 23:02

Well normally you need a pneumatic drill to get rid of tinselly nail varnish, so it's interesting to hear that this stuff actually removes itself. Grin

It does look pretty, though.

LilyBobtail · 28/05/2014 00:09

About 12 years ago they did a lovely sheer pink that I wish they would bring back. It was really nice for toes.

Hazelbrowneyes · 28/05/2014 08:10

I won't buy their nail varnish at full price anymore. It's either free on the front of a magazine or I buy one of their deals. I'm quite impressed with the 10 shades for £25 that I got recently but would I spend £12 for a nail varnish that lasts 3 days max?

Nope.

(By the way, Rimmel Kate nail varnish is FAB. I have the bright pink - it's lovely and lasts ages. As does ORLY.)

wrapsuperstar · 28/05/2014 09:26

Oh, I was seduced by floral too. Sad

I managed to spread the flowers out fine and prevent the scratchy/snagginess with a generous top coat of Seche Vite. But after one day's worth of pretty floral wear, I ran my 2 year old's evening bath. Swished the bubble bath under the warm water. One painted nail came off in one perfect piece (just the polish mind!). Chipping the others off in the same way was most satisfying, but not after having spent 45 minutes applying/drying it 24 hours previously. Angry

alltoomuchrightnow · 28/05/2014 13:53

yes mine comes off in a solid 'plate' yet every other textured polish i've ever used takes 5 yrs and several drills to remove Hmm
Nothing seems to secure the Floral into place, tis just so blooming brittle
and as Wrap says…. the drying time is horrendous

alltoomuchrightnow · 28/05/2014 13:54

hazel I've just got a gorgeous Sally Hansen opaque shell like pink from BM. (the cheapie shop). that and a white tip polish in pack for £1.99.

OP posts:
alltoomuchrightnow · 28/05/2014 13:55

sorry i meant LilyBobtail not Hazel re the sheer pink

i had a couple of nails left with Floral still on and just tried nail polish remover on them. It doesnt rub off or dissolve. It just peels straight off. It doesn't seem to be any different to those peel off polishes that were so popular briefly in the 90s. I remember working in Boots and arden or lauder did a posher version of the peel offs. they claimed it was better for nails, then they were quickly withdrawn Blush after it was found that the opposite was true!

It seems the saying you get what you pay for certainly does not apply here. If you are looking for nail varnish go to boots where they have a range named sinful colors and they have every color imaginable for only £1.99. I wear this and it doesn't chip. xx

lifehasafunnywayofhelpinguout · 02/06/2014 16:11

I use cuticle sticks for nail art. I put different patterns on everyday or sometimes I have each nail painted a different color You'd think I had nothing better 2 do. I am going do flag designs on my nails next week for the world cup. xx
