Cleaning a vintage bag ?

Not sure where this thread belongs, but hopefully someone here might have ideas. Got a fab mustard-but-not quite-that-dark-a-colour bag at a swop thing in DD s school. It's in good condition but a bit soiled/grimy on the outside and I'm not sure what best to try cleaning it with. I'm not sure what it's even made of, not leather I don't think but seems genuinely 'old-fashined' rather than a newish bag following the vintage trend iykwim.

I normally use wizz leather cleaner that I have for my sofa but that's for my leather bags. Ths little miracle can be found in poundworld. If it's leatherette I'd probably still give it a go, otherwise a damp cloth and star drops in the water. Assuming it's not fabric then I'd just hand wash it.
