Should DH and I match?

I've bought a lovely red dress for an upcoming wedding. For once I feel great about my outfit Smile .

DH has come home from shopping for suits/shirts with a really nice light grey suit, a lilac-ish shirt and bright purple/lilac tie. He looks very handsome!

But are we going to look weird in photos, one in lilac, one in red?

I really hope I'm being silly as there is no way I'm not going to wear my gorgeous red dress, and there's very little chance of me getting shopping-hater DH to get another shirt/tie ( he thinks I'm being silly, and that matching colour schemes is not ' a thing').

Ohhhh why didn't I go with him!!! Please tell me I'm being silly!

Unless you're the bride and groom, it's definitely not a thing to match - and even then it's not compulsory.

Phew, thank goodness for that.
I've never even thought about it at previous weddings. Just occurred to me cos my dress is v red and DHs tie is so bright!

I was assuming you were going to say he had bought a red tie and you were worried you were going to look like you had tried to match, that would be a style faux pas!
I have never looked at a wedding photo and thought that guests should have co-ordinated outfits.
