We received an order of girls summer stuff today and I have to say I'm really impressed with it.

Dd is 8 and is a bit bored of Boden and joules and decided she's too old for appliqués of cats and dogs or horses. H&m as much as I like it and dd funds stuff she deems cool, the quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Anyway we got some sleeveless tops, patterned shorts, hi lo hem dress, a line jersey dresses and some stripes jersey dresses. Dd loves them all the fit is good too. We ordered 8-9 and realistically I can't see the shorts fitting next year but everything else should.

Oops meant to say I posted because there have been a number of threads asking about clothing for that awkward 8-12 age group and thought it might help.

I've been getting Lands End kids stuff for a couple of years now and have been really happy with it.

A lot of their girls' skirts are actually skorts which I find good for DD who seems to spend most of her time climbing or practising gymnastics.

I used to buy a lot of their stuff when the DCs were younger, and I was living overseas so got Lands End things from their US website (more choice than the UK one, I think). It was all very good quality and hard-wearing - I think a couple of the down jackets are still in circulation amongst my DCs' friends' younger siblings.

I also found Uniqlo children's clothes to be very good, though again only a limited selection is available in the UK.

Agree it is good quality. I am a big fan of their snow boots ad well.

I have bought Lands End Winter Parka's for my two DGCs over the past few years and am very impressed with the quality and also the ability to lengthen the sleeves with great ease,I also buy the winter boots for DGD she loves them,a really good Company with regard to Customer Service also as they replaced an order for a Jacket for me from their new stock when they ran out of my size with the sale item I ordered, first class Company.

We've had the winter coats before and I brought two vest type tops for dd last summer but this is our first big order and am very impressed. Dd has already marked a skirt and a couple more t-shirts she likes.

We had a Zara order yesterday and whilst the delivery was quick and the clothes very pretty they aren't anywhere near the quality of lands end. Some of the Zara t-shirts are very thin and see through, but dd is in love with the flamingo shorts she got.
