lots of people on the beauty tips thread have been saying about drinking more water. if anyone has actually went through with drinking say 6 glasses a day or whatever, what difference did it make? currently i drink lots of tea and coffee and about 1 glass of water. i am always tired and notice my skin doesn't look very bright so ive just started trying to drink more but could do with a bit of motivation.

Well I started drinking more water and it made me feel slightly less tired I guess, also made my bowels more lively Grin

I have as well purchased perfectil platinum which is a nutritional supplement for the skin. I know it's expensive yes but no more than I normally invest waste per month on chocolate Blush so we shall see.

for some reason my pores and blackheads have got so much worse. they used to be just on my nose but now there are huge pores all over my forehead and even neck! don't have a clue what the heck is going on with my skin. stress maybe - the root of all problems!

Lots of water has never made much difference to my skin. Sleep, on the other hand, has a huge impact!

Drinking more water has definitely improved my skin. It looks brighter. My dark circles have also improved although they're hereditary in my case so are never going to be improved that much.

Cutting out sugar has made the biggest difference. My mood is better, pmt dramatically reduced, anxiety attacks almost gone and skin stays clear.

I think the combination of the two things has balanced my haywire hormones out.

Drinking more water has helped the skin on my bumpy upper arms and to some extent, the feel of my skin all over my body.
No effects on my face, eyes or anything else really but I think it helps me when I'm watching my food intake.

mummie that sounds like keratosis pilaris? High urea content foot cream works for me to get rid of the bumps...

Thanks, whereisshe, that's good to know. Mine isn't really bad at all but that information might come in handy if it were to get worse.

I've always been a water drinker so I can't say, but not getting enough sleep, coupled with older skin, has done some damage.

i think it is balls

All it did for me was make me need the loo 10 million times a day and make my eyes really puffy. And weirdly, it seemed to make me more thirsty. I did seem to have a bit more energy though.

To be fair, I lasted about 2 days before I fell back into old habits. I should try again.

The having to get up to pee in the night is enough to put me off.

It's a myth. You do need 8 glasses worth of water a day or thereabouts but it can be made up of any drinks including tea and coffee and a large amount comes from food. So you don't actually need to drink 8 glasses of water and it's just to be generally healthy. No evidence at all it does anything for your skin.

Sells a lot of bottled water though.

I just bought a twist and sip Sistema water bottle - I only like to drink water from bottles. As a result of getting it, I drank more water yesterday, which made me feel a bit better. In addition to the extra energy, I'd like to drink more water as I think dehydration may be causing my dark circles, and, also, I think I am eating when I'm actually thirsty, not hungry. So I hope drinking more water makes me feel better, look fresher and lose weight. Not much to ask!!
