Shopping in Dubai

DH is off to Dubai for business for a couple of weeks, staying right by the Dubai Mall. Any ideas of what brands / products might be cheaper / available there?
I'm going to ask him to pick me up some Gigi's in the bloomingdales there, they are apparently they are the same price as in the US and I can't find them cheaper here.
Anything else I might want to request?!

Nothing is cheaper unless you go to Karama (sp?) Market for the fakes.

It's an amazing place to go shopping but it's not cheaper than here for anything, except maybe silver jewellery but even then it's hard to avoid the tourist traps.

Nope - definitely not cheaper I'm sorry to say. The selection is very good though. Karama is indeed the place for fakes. They do vary in quality so best to go with someone who knows the right shops. It's a bit hot here for trawling around Karama right now though, even at night. If hubby is looking for new jeans there is a whole denim district in dubai mall including 7 for all mankind etc. See if you can tag on the next trip with him!

DH got a TAG watch much cheaper when we went last year...it was completely genuine btw and from the TAG shop.

Other than that nothing was much cheaper at all.

We went into Karama and I got completely freaked out and we left...too many people and much too hot (we literally went a year ago today!) so could't tell you if there were any bargains there or not.

Did find a shop called Aeropostle which seemed quite good-nice clothes for boys at reasonable price. I think its American though.
