Clinique City Block 40 - is it enough?

I have just started using this based on recommendations here and LOVE it.

But is it enough for being out and about on sunny days?

I've used it for years and years but think if it's very hot you need to a) re-apply like any sun cream, and b) use quite a big dollop to get the SPF it says on the tube. A light smear isn't going to work. I still get some slight pigmentation across the top of my cheeks, so it's clearly not blocking all the sun.
