Is it possible to dye Superga?

I bought a pair of white Superga which after I've washed (on a specific cool trainer wash) now looked wrecked. It looks like the glue has run and has left horrible tide marks. Does anyone know if I'd be able to dye them, and if so what dye should I use?

I would try a dylon dye then, the cold water machine one, if they are wrecked already then it won't hurt.

I think the superga are like heavyweight cotton/canvas so the dye in theory should take well.

That's great, thanks I'll give it a go and try and save them from the bin. I'm really surprised they washed so badly!

I've not washed superga, but washed converse, vans etc and all have been fine so really surprised that superga didn't.

the dye won't take on the rubber bits so fingers crossed for you. Grin

Yes, I've washed loads of pairs of Converse and they always come out looking like new. I just assumed they'd be ok. I was wondering about the rubber, so that's good to know.

Same thing has happened to my Superga after washing them on the trainers setting - glue seems to have run and stained them. I'm gutted as they look awful now! Let us know if the dye works ok Smile

I'll report back itsnothingoriginal it's really annoying as I've worn then about five times...and they aren't cheap!

I've washed my supergas loads of times without incident, mind you they aren't white! I reckon they'll dye well with the dylon machine dye.

HatticusFinch - did you try dyeing your Supergas in the end? Did it work?
