Next week!!
Really want to try and travel light and be casual but well turned out without taking loads of stuff I don't end up wearing.
Does anyone have any tips or pre planned lists that they use to achieve this?
Thanks

Lay everything you think you need out and then take half! You'll only end up wearing your favourite things anyway.

I am off to Turkey in a few weeks and I will take 4 bikinis, 4 beach dresses and 5 dresses for the evening. Couple of pairs of flip flops and sandals and that is it! (and about 10 pairs of pants!!)

For 2 weeks I take about 5 day/beach dresses, 8 smarter dresses 4 swimsuits 2 pairs sandals and loads of knickers. I dont take tops & bottoms just dresses. If I am unsure of weather I would take a couple of cardigans

OK so I'm thinking I'm good with 3 bikinis, 3 cover ups/ beach dress things , denim shorts and a short linen shirt for the day with a few bandeau/ vest tops and a pair of havs. Now to think about evenings, not 7 different outfits I'm guessing!! Maybe dresses are easier than separates.

We usually go for 2.5 weeks (to a villa so we can wash our clothes) I gave up on shorts years ago for holidays as not practical or comfortable and need long dresses for the evenings because mossies love me..

This year I am taking 2 maxi skirts and 5 vest/ camisole tops which go with both of them, 2 other long dresses . 3 beach kaftans/dresses (which i can also wear in the town). 2 sarongs, a lightweight cream gauze wrap for the evening ( mossie protection) 2 bikinis, Hat (though you could buy one there) sunnies, a white bra with clear straps, probably ony 5 pairs of knickers (wear a bikini all day), a lightweight silk kimono, 2 pairs of accessorize flip flops ,plastic beach shoes (for rocks!). I will travel in one of the long skirts and a more sunstantial pair of flat sandals and a cotton cardi, (and stuff in my bag a kagoul for when i get home and its raining!)

I don't own a beach dress and probably only have two to three evening dresses (no way do I take a clean one for every night).

Sorts and T shirts during the day if not in my swimming costume.

I always used to take about 7 long dresses for my 2 weeks , but as trying to pack a lot lighter this year i decided to try the maxi skirt camisole combo i have a mix of linen/ cotton and jersey tops ..

However it might depend on how often the same people will see you. we hire a car so we dont eat in the same village every evening

beach: two rash vests, two pairs board shorts (these are best worn without bikini bottoms), two bikini tops, one sunhat, sunglasses. Rinse swimwear each evening.

off beach: two pairs shorts, one skirt, couple of vest tops.

seven pairs of knickers (fresh ones on in evening)

one pair long trousers, one fleece (plane/coach/cool evening), a few t-shirts.
one pair flip flops, one pair trainers (journey/walking), one pair evening shoes. Two evening outfits.

medication, toiletries, documents, camera, entertainment.

done.

I'm taking (for a week):

1 x bikini
1 x swimsuit
2 x light cover-up tunic thingies which can be thrown on poolside when I want to go and have a drink etc, or put on over anything sleeveless to avoid sunburn
4 x daytime maxi dresses
4 evening maxis
1 maxi skirt and a couple of cami vest tops
Flipflops
Comfy day sandals
Evening sandals

Wearing 3/4 jeans, teeshirt, cardi, scarf and Converse on the plane
