Best sunscreen for kids?

Right, so I bought factor 50 Soltan sunscreen for DS at the weekend and the spray nozzle is doing my nut as I end up with more on the floor than I do on him. What sunscreen do you use for your (wriggly) kids? I want factor 50, easily absorbed, built-in insect repellent if poss, but doesn't need to be water resistant as he's only playing outdoors at nursery.

I don't think it has insect repellant but we use the nivea kids one and it is easy to spread and absorbed quickly.

I use the invisible nivea ones which are really easily absorbed. I like to cans that you can spray on as so quick and easy but they are quite pricey.

I like the calypso all day long ones for when she is at school as it lasts all day so I don't have to worry about her not being protected. It comes in spray or cream.

I don't think you can beat Ultrasun. It's expensive but it's by far the best IMHO. No insect repellant though.

The best way to apply it to the face is to spray it onto a make up sponge then smear it on. Saves waste and you can apply it more effectively. Worth a try?

I'm with Fay for Ultrasun. We used Factor50 in Greece and F30 back here in the UK. Perfect for applying in the morning before school/preschool!

I love the Boots Soltan Once. Just a squeezy bottle, not a spray. We use it every year in the Caribbean and it is fabulous. Perfect for school days too.

Qvc aellr it. But unless Qvc have it on special ot ia cheaper from their own website.

Duty free is much cheaper
. Once you decide you like it it is definitely worth stocking up.

JL best for Ultrasun I would say as QVC has extortionate delivery charges.

Look for one that has 5 star UVA protection - dermatologists I've spoken to think this is as important as the factor rating. LOTS of sun screens don't have it. I was looking at Ultrasun at the weekend and it didn't even say what star rating it was.

That's one reason I went with the Soltan Once - it has a 5* UVA rating.

Ultrasun is fabulous for me as well as the kids, I wish I'd discovered it years ago, it really is once a day, non greasy, rubs in really well and the anti ageing face 30 SPF doubles as a great moisturiser/primer too. I'll never use another suncare brand. Feel unique do it on free delivery, as cheap as you'll find it anywhere

I dont use it on mine unless it is really hot and they cant be kept indoors in the midday/early afternoon sun.Have read a lot about the dangers of the chemicals in them,the way they block vit d worries me too.

When its unavoidable i use organic children sunscreen spf 15,is im at home i use raspberry seed oil.

We love Reimann P20. The factor 30 can be applied once and lasts for 10 hours. It's like a colourless oil, so no gunky stripes.

YY to ultrasun. I discovered it last year. Really easily absorbed and I don't feel all sweaty underneath it. I also have sensitive skin and every sun cream expect this has me up in spots. I get the sensitive once a day one and have it in factor 30 and 50 and we all use it. Got some last week from my local jojo maman bebe.

The big family bottle of ultrasun (spf30) is on Amazon for £48.99, free p&p. Is that a decent price?

We use Ultrasun. I used to even have it sent over when we lived in Australia.

I used Riemann P20 on my daughter yesterday and despite reapplying 4 times (even though it says up to 10 hours from one application) her arms are red. It's Factor 30 which I thought would be enough. The Ultrasun comes in Family SPF30 or Extreme SPF50. The SPF50 is smaller and more expensive but she's got eczema so very sensitive skin. Those advocating Ultrasun is Family SPF30 enough SPF and is it suitable on sensitive skin? Cheers!

We used to love ultra sun. This year ds2 and I have both come up allergic. Slightly to the factor 50 face one and very to the sport 30 spray He is normally allergic to suncreams. I am not so I'm looking for another one.

I got 2 big bottles (500 ml each) for £80 plus a free Ultrasun Face protector from thesuncareshop or thesuncarestore online last week. Free and fast delivery. Cheapest place I could find it. I bought the Family spf30 one. Works brilliantly for us and really does last all day.
