Has anyone grown out a pixie cut?

I've got really short hair and I'm starting to feel like I want to grow it long Confused

I do suit having short hair but it makes me feel unattractive sometimes when i see people with long gorgeous hair.

I'm not looking forward to all the awkward inbetween stages.
Has anyone got any tips to make it easier? Or to make my hair grow quicker?

Was it worth growing your hair long again?
I'm a little concerned I'll spend ages growing it then I'll chop it off as soon as I'm done Grin

Hello, am in a similar position. Started growing out my short pixie cut about 3 months ago. So far it's OK(ish). I've been going to hairdressers (not my own - too scared to tell him Smile) and having the top thinned out and the back who spy bits trimmed so it doesn't look too big or bushy while the rest grows. am hoping in about 3/4 months I'll have a short bob type thing and then I can see how I feel and maybe reevaluate Smile

Back whispy bits that should have said Smile

I did, it wasn't fun. It looks awful between pixie and just under the ears, but it does start to resemble an actual, decent, style again soon! But then pixie cuts never really suited me as my hair is so bloody thick it wouldn't do what I wanted it to anyway.

I think it took me about a 5 months for it to get long enough to get cut nicely again from a longer pixie cut to a very short bob. No tips I'm afraid though, do it over winter when you'll be wearing hats! I got mine pixied at Christmas one year and grew it out until May. I had a nice collection of hats.

Hello mini Smile
What made you decide to do it, were you just fed up of having it short?
Long hair really didn't suit me when I was younger so I had it cut short and now I'm older I'm thinking long hair might look better on me now!

I'm really dreading the bob stage though Shock
And the shoulder stage where the ends curl up because it's sat on your shoulders haha!

I've just had a thought, do you think at a bobish stage extensions done professionally would be a good idea? So they're blended really well?

I had REALLY short hair, grew it to my shoulders and then had it cut to my ears.
Drove me crackers but took 12-18 months to get it looking ok long. Weird thing is, the longer my hair is, the smaller my confidence gets. but getting to old to have really short hair

My DH finally admitted he liked me with longer hair (I used to have really long hair years ago) but I'd already decided I missed having something longer too so the 2 things combined made me think I'll try to grow it and see. I have no idea how it'll look, work, etc. I also see women with gorgeous long hair and think 'oh I had hair like that' ... But that might be more to me being 41 than missing the hair itself ?? Is 41 too old to start trying to grow it again ???? Hmm
