Help, I need stuff for my face!

I don't normally wear much in the way of foundation etc, but have wedding tomorrow and really need some coverage on my face. I bought some loreal bb cream, in light skin tone, but I look orange. Can anyone recommend some nice natural coverage for me with no danger of me looking orange?!

Thanks

Yes. I can!!

I clearly having too much time on my hands have been researching this on MN because I have never been happy with the colour of my foundation/tinted moisturiser. Turns out apparently they are mostly yellow based but I have pink undertones in my skin. I went to the Boots No7 counter after reading recommendations on here. They do a colour analysis with a electronic gadget thingy (it takes a photo basically of your skin and then matches it to the colour of their foundations). Tis brilliant. Turns out I'm a 'cool vanilla' .

Thank you, I thought about trying no 7 as their staff are never too made up or scary!

Yellow tones are very good for pink skin- it neutralises the pink! That's why Bobbi brown foundations are yellow based as it's more flattering.

I'd try a no 7 counter, they've really upped their game recently imo.

No7 don't have a colour match for me Sad

"Yellow tones are very good for pink skin" - oh I've totally misunderstood the whole skin tone thing then! Maybe it's that most people have yellow undertones, not pink (according to some blog or other I read)? I'm a bit of an amateur at this, I should leave it to the experts.

Sad @ cookiepants

Yellow or green neutralises pink/ red. Yellow works tons better for me than green primers usually.

I thought that most high street foundations were on the pinky side rather than yellow? Revlon tends to be yellowish so works well for me.

Happy to be told I've got that all wrong thoughGrin

Went to no 7, lady was fab and I have come away with lovely foundation and powder, all very natural looking. She tried it all out on me in the shop after doing that photo thing. Very happy. No different coloured neck and face to be seen!!!

yellow tones look awful on my pink/blue toned skin. Anything other than a correctly matching foundation would make me look ridiculous.

Good work uptheauntie - what kind of coverage did you go for?

uptheauntie · 16/05/2014 15:08

Stay perfect super light foundation in calico and trust translucent pressed powder. I look like me with with less minging skin!!! No seriously, just look a bit smoother and even.

Thanks for the recommendations.
