Problems with curly hair!

Hi - I have naturally curly shoulder length hair which looks great on the day I wash it but the following day the curls droop, it looks limp and lifeless Hmm. I usually let it dry naturally or use a diffuser. Have also started using Sebastian Whipped Creme which my hairdresser recommended. All suggestions appreciated!

I have this problem too. I just wash my hair every day and leave it to dry. I find it quicker than faffing around trying to make my hair look nice.

I'm reluctant to wash it every day but may have to...

Just wet it and rinse with cold water . helps my hair.

Does it take hours to dry though? Mine is similar and it looks best when left to air dry, but it takes 3 or 4 hours. Occasionally I wake up on a non-wash day and it looks fabulously bouncy, but not often.

I do find damping it a bit and then pinning it up with a claw clip for an hour or so before going out helps. Or spraying it with some styling gel and giving it a blast with the diffuser. I'm not very good with the diffuser though, can go fluffy very easily.

I use curl reactivator it works quite well

I have the same issue and if I want to wear my hair down and curly I usually have to wash it every day. I recently tied it up on top of my head when I went to bed (to keep it out of the way) and the next day I wore it down again with just a freshen up of mousse scrunched through..I don't know why it works....but it does! Grin I'm not at all bitter that I've only just learnt this now

Doshusallie · 15/05/2014 20:27

Mine is curliest on wash day. But if I put quite a lot of product in (mousse and boots' curl creme) I find that I can take it down the next morning (have to sleep with it up it's so long) and scrunch a. Bit more curl Creme through it I can wear it curly again. Rarely wear my hair down though, I consider a "down" style to be when I wear it in a banana clip.

I wash mine everyday. BUT if you don't want to you can revitalise the curls by spraying it with water or salt water then applying your gel of choice as normal.
I have to wet my hair to do anything with it, even tie it back.

I've been using umbertto gianni curl scrunching gel on my hair religiously for years and always get nice comments on it. Not boasting, its quite embarrassing as its constant and i feel like a tit!

ByTheSea · 15/05/2014 21:14

I have to at least get my hair wet every morning or cannot face the wold. I often just condition but don't shampoo.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/05/2014 21:19

I've tried that gel but it makes mine look really scraggy. Boots Curl Creme makes it look lank. I've more or less given up on products.

JamJimJam · 15/05/2014 21:22

I use the Umberto Giannini gel too.

Looks fab on the day it's washed, but drops out quickly after that.

Skivvywoman · 16/05/2014 06:56

Before you go to bed tie it up high in a loose scrunchie next day curls will be great

I find curl cream makes for rubbish hair on day 2!

I always use Frizz Ease mousse, then the following day I refresh with a conditioning spray (Aussie have some good ones) and really dampen the lengths with it. I reshape the curls a bit, Then add a tiny bit of serum to control the frizz.
