Vaguely cool slippers?

NumptyNu · 15/05/2014 14:46

Where can I find a pair of slippers that don't make me look/feel like an old lady, or are not shaped like a medium-sized house pet?

I have fleece boot slippers from Lands End that are comfy, warm, and not too elderly looking. Or fluffy.

Years ago when I wanted something to wear on my feet indoors to keep them clean (vile shared house) I wore proper leather ballet shoes as they were soft and not restricting

Not sure if they could be described as cool or not but I have a lovely pair of moshulu slippers which look reasonably funky and are super comfy and hard wearing.

FauxFox · 15/05/2014 14:58

I've got furry boot slippers that make me feel like a podium dancer from the 90s Grin I heart them so much.

NumptyNu · 16/05/2014 14:23

Excellent, thanks for those suggestions!

Camper ones are nice imo

NumptyNu · 17/05/2014 20:14

Ooh, I love Camper shoes and boots. Why have I not noticed that they do slippers???? Off to look.

Joules slipper boots off ebay.

Although I do have a hankering for unicorn ones off Amazon, I think I'd fall over wearing them and make the postman laugh

Ihateparties · 17/05/2014 20:48
Shock

Mine were forty quid and it took aaaages to work up to spending that much. How did they go from that to 120 quid in 18 months?!

Artandco · 17/05/2014 20:54

Just sheepskin

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 18/05/2014 09:29

Babouches?

Bearleigh · 18/05/2014 09:37

For when I wear my pjs I like simple white slippers that can be washed, and which M&S no longer sell. I have just found this site:

Love the baboushes.

maitaimojito · 18/05/2014 09:40

My DP really likes Homeys slippers.

NumptyNu · 18/05/2014 17:39

Ooh, yes. Homeys look good - very vibrant! Thanks everyone. Great suggestions. Off to buy something....

I am a slipper-phile and have four pairs at the mo Blush

Kiwi Sheepskin houseboots (getting a bit warm for them now)
Scuffs from Celtic & Co
These from Boden
And these shearling flip-flops - they are sooooo nice!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/05/2014 18:09

I like the look of the M&S Paisley wedge slipper ( brocade, very 'Smoking Jacket' ,
I'd wear as nice indoor shoes Blush

£12.50

NumptyNu · 18/05/2014 19:41

Oh my word, those Scuffs are spot on. Are they true to size? I notice the 'small' is a 4-5, which is a shame as I'm more of a 3-4, so they may be too big. Might be tempted to put in an order and try though. Lots of other lovely things on that site... Oh dear!

I have some Moroccan leather slippers, a bit like these but with a small wedge heel. I really like them Smile

here

NumptyNu · 18/05/2014 19:42

Thanks for the Paisley suggestion. Not my style really, but really appreciated taking a look.

TulipOHare · 18/05/2014 20:41

You might be OK, I am a shoe size 5-6 and bought medium (6-7) and they aren't too big at all.

bouquetofpencils · 18/05/2014 20:55

I wear Ugg flipflops, cosy, comfortable and don't look too bad.

NumptyNu · 19/05/2014 07:20

Thanks all. Scuffs and (ahem, they just fell into the trolley, honest gov) shearling flip-flops ordered!
